Global Warming is what happens to select parts of the Earth's surface when it's exposed to sunlight. It's a normal part of the day / night cycle. BTW long-term studies (since 1760 A.D.) document that fluctuations in the intensity of solar radiation are closely correlated with warming and cooling trends in the Earth's temperature. It's a more exact correlation than CO2 levels. Scores of historical & scientific papers show that the medieval warm period was real, global and up to 3C warmer than now. Wine grapes were grown in England. Then, there were no glaciers in the tropical Andes: today they're there. There were Viking farms in Greenland: now they're under permafrost. There was little ice at the North Pole: a Chinese naval squadron circumnavigated round the Arctic in the Summer of 1421. There was no pack ice to prevent them from achiving this feat

This answer is based on a layman's perspective.
A lot of people I know think that global warming just means temperature rise and day becomes warmer. They are not aware or simply ignorant to the fact that the glaciers are melting and causing water levels to rise all over the world. Since they don't really feel any significant increase in temperature, they just assume that global warming is not happening.

No matter what "facts" are presented in science, there will always be naysayers. If you look long and hard enough, you can find a scientist to tell you that the earth is flat.
What needs to happen is that everyone who believes in the theory of global warming (which is just about everybody) needs to stop worrying about if there is anyone out there who doesn't believe. What they need to do is stop arguing and start trying to do something about it. There are now enough people out there on board that if everyone just does a little bit, we can all make a really big difference.

People resist change. Some of them resist it so hard they are left behind--and in this case, possibly even under water, or in the middle of a new desert.
The problem of global warming is so big, it requires EVERYONE to take responsibility for the things they do that contribute to it, and to change. Industry has to change. People will have to train for other jobs. In many cases, it will mean giving up things people don't want to give up, and won't unless they're forced to. Their beloved 1978 3/4t 4x4 pickup, or their Hummer. Or NASCAR. Or red meat. Or their oil revenues...

Right now, many Americans are disputing global warming simply because they are stuck in a particularly bitter winter... This would be akin to saying hurricane seasons are not getting worse simply because Florida had none last year.

I find it interesting that people are so pissed off because they say the government has been lying to us about this and about that and God knows what. But now the government is saying we're causing global warming and so many people are getting on that bandwagon. Humans are such a bunch of igmo's.

Because they don't want to face up to the problem. However, we can't say that all Global warming is due to mankind as Mars is also experiencing Global warming and that is definitely not due to man

The warming or cooling of the Earth's atmosphere is caused by solar radiation from our own Sun, which is cyclical.
Driving your Honda to the video store may cause some air pollution but it isn't going to change the ambient temperature of the world's atmosphere!
'Global Warming' caused by man is a hoax.
It's unfortunate that the majority of the U.S. population is too uneducated in Science to recognize the truth.

Since you can't find much else that everyone agrees on, this should not be surprising to you. Some people would dispute that an apple always falls when you drop it. And they're right!
