You always hear about "growing scientific consensus", but no statistics are ever given and that phrase is never defined.

Has anyone here read Prey by Michael Crichton? For those who have. Do you think his views that global warming is nothing more than a tool to keep humans loyal and in fear? Or is Global warming a REAL threat that we must act upon now?

If obnoxious mosquitoes were made extinct, would the ecosystem miss them? Their presence seems more harm than heal, so should these flying insects of disease spreading be wiped-out? Who would shed a tear for the mosquito?

I have heard that daily volcanic activity causes billions of times more pollution than years of our own pollution from cars and factories. I realize that the cities that have many factories and cars are the cause of the local pollution but it doesn't have as far-reaching effect as volcanic activity.

Hello I need some help. I need to answer the question for an assignment. I'm havin a hard time finding a reliable source that can possibly give me answers to my questions. The research topic is the Kyoto Protocol by the way. I would like to know, in depth, about air pollution and CO2 emissions. If you cite a reliable source, that would really save my life. Thank you.

Given that global warming is here to stay--is it technically possible to cool the earth? Moving it away from sun by somehow widening its orbit is one solution that I can think of, but have yet to figure out. Any other ideas?

I've done the looking up on google and yahoo, and now I want to hear from people who may know something about this (so please no more links from a search engine - been there lots).

1. How bad is the scenario?

2. How much time do we have before it's irrevocable?

3. What's it going to take to convince the money bottom-liners that our world is frying itself?

4. Do you think the earth is frying itself (with our help)?

5. What are your credentials?

6. Are you scared?

7. Finally, what do YOU do to make the world a better place for your children?
