Nothing sinister. What these guys are actually working on is helping our planet to release itself of electrons. Without the efforts of these "chemtrails" (which actually just hold the moisture in the air and promote cloud growth) our weather would be a lot more violent, and people would already be starting to worry.

With these chemtrail efforts, energy is able to pass through our atmosphere (which acts like an insulator) much easier. You know how static electricity works? Well it's the same thing between the ground, space, and the Sun!

Now what's going on is that the Sun is "calling" back all the electrons it released and gave to our planet. A huge galactic, electric current was feeding the Sun, but now it's balancing out, growing weaker, and thus it isn't able to give the atoms in the Sun the energy they need to release their electrons.

So what happens on Earth is that our atmosphere acts like an insulator, holding these electrons in. When the current feeding the Sun gets weak enough, the attraction between the Earth and the Sun gets strong enough we get a release much like static electricity. What we see on Earth are violent storms, tornadoes and hurricanes. Remember Katrina, Rita, and Wilma of last year? Those were VERY powerful storms, and they were occuring during a time when the Sun was seeing an odd amount of sunspots and solar flares.

What the people behind the chemtrails are trying to do is prevent a whole LOT of bad weather spread out over a long time, and just put it into a few really, really, big and bad storms. People will still notice something is up, like how Katrina blew up into category 5 in a matter of hours, but this could have occured another time in Earth's history right? Who are we to say it's not normal?

Anyways, the purpose is to get this energy out from under the Earth's atmosphere and in to the area hovering around Earth's atmosphere, this way when the discharges occur it doesn't have to pull out from under the atmosphere and cause crazy weather. This still happens, just not as bad.
