Many say "it depends on the altitude and temperature" but we just assume standard conditions, the air about the same as most people breathe wherever they live.

companies who don't wish to comply with EPA regulations simply move their plants to other countries - often with disasterous results, i.e. Union Carbide accident in India.

I think that's how it's spelled. Nevertheless, I want a recipe and instructions, PLEASE. I live in Tennesse and I saw someone complaining about gas prices on a local channel. He makes his own, it's legal, and considerably less expensive!! Sort of like the process in making "white lightnin'". Or, tell me your opinion on the idea.

Tony Blair is supposed to be a strict christian and christians see themselves as the stewards of the earth. tony blair is trying to go nuclear despite the fact that it could cause widespread illness and enviromental damage. The other thing is some people claim that nuclear power plants aren't as safe as governments say they are - surely tony blair wouldn't risk a nuclear disaster - we already know the results of that.

What are you going to do? Discuss

All living creatures damage the environment. A duck stamping on a snail stops its reproductive cycle; a bear breaking into a beehive destroys years of work of thousands of bees; a snake knocking off a nest for its eggs kills a generation of birds; an elephant seal eating a penguin on its way home condemns its chick to death!

Nature can SLOWLY regenerate small amounts of damage.

But humans broke away from the food chain when moving from the wild to civilisation; and their scientific advances enabled intensive and FAST exploitation of resources at the expense of the environment.

100 million people would be about the right number to keep up with regeneration, but a population nearing 6 billions cannot be sustained, and resources will inevitably get exhausted.

The more children you have the more you accelerate the process; in view of this; how are you going to help?

Just wondering if anyone is noticing the drastic climate changes throughout the world, (amongst other changes/extremities) and also the news of the extreme melting of the glaciers and such and are convinced that it's time to get serious about Global Warming.....before it's too late!

If you look at a wave obviously it exists underwater as much as it does above water, and as it comes closer to a coast line the shelf underneath pushes the wave up above, hence the surge of water. Therefore, if a coastline were to develop a huge say mile long barrier that could be raised if detectors found an incoming wave, wouldnt it break the wave up?

I want to know where i can find environmentally friendly forms of packaging for a food maunfacturing venture i am hoping to start. I am not sure whther to go for glass (which i belive to be the easiest to recycle here in the UK), or some of these new corn/starch based (PLA) plastics which claim to be compostible. Ideally I want to know the options which present to lowest environmental damage overall from cradle to grave, and if possible where i can find out further information on suppliers etc. But any help will be useful indeed.
