some way to store it so you don't have to torture your plant every time you need the aloe vera gel.

The best place to store the aloe vera leaf is on the plant. Cut off what you need to use. And stop worrying about torturing a plant. Plants can't feel pain.

I give them as house warming gifts. My aloe vera stays in the kitchen and is the most tended plant on the property. When I get burns, I only take off as much as I need per application. I use the older leaves toward the bottom first.

Re torture. In the wild deers eat the leaves off living plants, a natural pruning process. The plant responds by increasing its foliage production. Symbiosis, not torture.

I like the freezing option, will keep longer than in the fridge. Also, I've had aloe plants for years and have never had success with replanting cut or broken leaves in the soil. They need to be rooted first, then put in the soil to continue growing. Good luck!

Tight seal a plastic bag or Tupperware type container in cool/dry place..like your veggie crisper.

PS: The plant does not have nerves to feel the cutting process that one initiates to capture the its juices......just leave the plant on your sunny to mod light window area and it will thrive with regular watering......a cooks best friend!!!
