According to some web sources, average laptop take 50 Watt to operate, and a 25" X 48" solar panel should be able to provide that much.

It will cost you over $200 too.

it could, but you'd have to keep it in the sun all the time, and it would hve to be low quality components. the better the part, the more watts it uses, usually. just look up how many watts such and such a solar panel can produce, and choose the laptop parts accordingly.
