because many scientists and Al Gore are saying that it is real, even though it isn't.

Governor: We may not see definite effects, yet, but we see the causative forces pointing in a certain direction:
1. Vegetation converts CO2 to oxygen. Depleting the forests means that more carbon dioxide might build up; and CO2 is a greenhouse gas.
2. By removing fossil fuels and burning them constantly, we are adding to the heat of the entire planet. Normally, excess heat dissipates into space as microwave radiation, but if we cover the planet in CO2 and methane, the excess heat will be trapped and build up here.
3. Our cars and other machines increase greenhouse gasses as well.
Even if a few degrees increase might seem like a benefit, the result could be melting of Greenland and Antartica, making oceans less salty and increasing see level.
That would flood the coastlines in the world, which are heavy human population centers. And
Europe might re-glaciate. Areas of the Northern Hemisphere might get fifty feet of snow dumped in two days.
And it might be irreversible, which means too late, bye-bye human civilization.

It is real, but the question is is it a natural cycle of the earth, or has human activity increased the effect?
And how is it of a net benefit? Higher air temperatures means the atmosphere can hold more water, leading to areas where rains fall less frequently, thus reducing aerable land which means less food.

If you yell loud enough, people will start to listen, no matter what the topic. Especially when the topic pits political parties against eachother. Then everyone goes nuts. People only care about because it is the newest fad that americans are following. I bet in about december when you have like the coldest winter on record, people will shut up about it until it gets to be 90F next summer, then they will come back out of their holes and start yelling again. It's sorta funny just to sit back and watch all the crazy people go nuts from month to month on each issue. People will always b*tch about something, one month it's high gas prices, next it's gay marriage, now it's global warming... I can't wait to see what's next!

It is not a believe, there is enough data to prove that this is for real. MSN.COM had yesterday a whole article on this topic, showing data that proved that the glaciers and pole caps are slowly melting away, and raising the water levels by about 4mm annual. Temperatures have been the hottest since 400 years.

Probably because the glaciers are melting like crazy. It's real, there is no doubt about that. But the reason that would get people fired up is that it is raising ocean levels and increasing the intensity of hurricanes. Were you bitching about New Orleans? OK, then, there ya go.

No more New York. No more London. No more Los Angeles. No more Tokyo. No more San Francisco. No more Seattle. No more Sydney. No more Jakarta. No more Washington. No more Miami. No more ...
Yes, I can see the net benefit already.
Ever get a sinking feeling. You will, brought to you by climate change.

If you get enough people saying the same thing over and over again often enough, first it stops sounding unfamiliar, because you've heard it so often. Then it starts sounding familiar. Then, when you hear the first part of it, you can finish the rest from your own memory. Then when anybody disagrees, your memory kicks in and finishes the rest. Then it starts to sound true. It doesn't have to be true. It's called 'intelligence adulteration'.

it would be nice to wish all this away and give learned quotes of big scientists proving that global warming is not an issue, but you guys are far away safe(for the moment)in your city apartments.
but in North Africa,India,Mexico ,China millions of people would have to disagree with you ,because their world has dried up
serious enough in china, thousands of what used to be farmers are running for their lives from the dust storms that have burried their towns and turned their lands into dessert, the globe where they were got to hot for them .
and instead of producing food they are now needing it from some where else, and they will drastically effect the world food prices when they start buying water in the form of grains ,at any cost destabalising governments, in some countries ,could be the result
(are you seeing more Chinese around interested in agricultural lands ,we do here in Mexico)
this was man made global warming because of over grazing and fertilizers, and they are not the only ones
collectively this planet is drying up ,the Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year
and all of the desserts we know are a results of mans actions ,and they are increasing ,not getting less ,in the dinosaurs days ,there were no desserts.
so as far as the food production is concerned Global warming or some of its effects are serious, rising seas result in landloss
each degree rise in temperature means 10%crop loss
more landloss because of desertification every year,we have less areble land to produce food ,for an extra 70 million people ,
and there is less and less water (because of deforestation),to irrigate this production ,
and there are less and less farmers to do it..
who are plowing more and more unstable lands because they have lost so many million hectares to desertification ,
because of bad farming practises ,such as using fertilizers and heavy machinary or over grazing
Global warming is in theory reversable, but it will mean global co operation between all countries ,and taking into account human nature and the world politics ,it is unlikely that this will happen,
At least not untill we are all in the middle of planetary disastres and it becomes a battle for the survival of humanity every where.
SOLUTIONS
if you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to reverse the destructive processes
reduce carbon emisions, and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials, aerosol cans, burning rubbish, industrial chimneys, powerplants etc.
the capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.
the world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia
Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.
the protection of existing forrests.
stop building more highways, urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.
education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.
education on environmental awareness
Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.
more environmental or land ,design to prevent bush fires, such as--fire breaks
,more dams.regulations and control for public behaviour
alternative effeciant public transport to discourage the use of the internal conbustion engine
recicling wastes,limit water use

Good question. It is convenient for some peoples political agenda's. It stirs people emotions and helps attract less knowledgeable people to list to them. So it is touted far to frequently that it becomes fact in peoples mind. Without proof.
