Because my teacher thinks that writing is more boring than spelling. I think she shouldn't be an English teacher if you ask me.

Today in class, my U.S. History teacher was talking about why Hilary Clinton should not be elected President. My teacher was spreading this story about her saying obscenities and profanities to people. I really don't believe this is true; it sounded far-fetched when she was telling it, anyway. I just wanted to know if there's any school rule against this? I was under the impression that teachers weren't allowed to spread these kinds of things to students. Correct me if I'm wrong, please.

Between subjects, my students often need to get their wiggles out. I have them stand and follow my hand/finger movements (wiggling fingers, clapping hands, etc.)

I'm looking for more ideas I can use. Does anyone have some good suggestions or sites that list ideas?

Middle school-6th grade English and social science position I am interviewing for tomorrow. I know they always seem to ask what ELL strategies I would use. What are they talikng about? Perhaps I already use these strategies and just don't know that they are special. Can anyone give me some great strategies or "textbook" strategies? What do these principals want for an answer? Please help...I really need this job!!!

Would any teachers out there be willing to give up an evening a month or every two months to "brush up" parents on their children's school and homework. This would be in the form of a "class" taught by one teacher for each grade level for all parents interested in knowing how to answer the homework questions and look it over properly and not just check if it's all filled in. Arranged by the school and either free or a small fee for each parent in attendance. Same for the parents out there...Would you like, or even go to, a refresher class that would help you and your child(ren) once a month, once every two months, three, four...? I'm talking all ages here K-12.

cause more problems than they help? What do you do if they have problems with parents and just seem to be trouble makers do you report them to superiors or just hold out for the end of school? Can you choose not to have them as your assistant again the next year or is it your choice?

Almost every Sunday evening, I get an awful anxious, dreadful feeling regarding going into work on Monday. Monday morning it passes and I am ok at work but I don't know how normal this is. I have been teaching for several years and have been seriously considering leaving the profession. Is this apprehensive feeling common? Anyone else get this way?

i would realy like to be a teacher, preferably high school, i am in high school right now, i love it alot, i am not the loudest, or most well-known person, but i do love just being there, the interaction we all have with each othe,r how many ppl there are (i go 2 a vry populated public school, about 3000 ppl), & ive always like jsut the atmosphere of school. i never used to be a good public speaker, until recently ive improved alot. i get a bit jittery, but ive realised i only worry in front of audiences older than me, or my age. i was in a play and stood in front of 1000 10 year olds, spoke to a class full of freshman and i didnt worry or have one fearful thought in my mind... so, i think when it comes to that ill be good, but mainly i want 2 teach becaus i would feel so amazing knowing i have the power to impact ppl, and yet it is a small scale job, i also feel i will have the ability to be creative (im a vry creative person) also im just rly caring, towards strangers even...

This is for teachers and subs. I am a sub, and I am wondering how many of your balance the line between being mean to the students, and cool with them. I like a point in between is good because sometimes you have to be mean and strict, and other times, you can be cool with them. I used to lean more toward strict, but now I lean more toward cool because it makes the job more fun. So which side do you all lean toward?
