Old Teaching method and modern teaching methods have their own merrits and de-merrits. I think the best and easy Methods should be involved in teaching which can make the teaching intresting and easy to explain the things as well as to make it understand clearly to the students no matter it belongs to old or new. Some times the combination of this two methods gives out the best results in teaching methods. So i think the two Methods plays an important role in its own ways.

I get frustrated when old and new/modern are used.
It doesn't matter.

What matters is what works!!!

I do feel it is a must to use technology in teaching.
Think a little: How can I use the "old" and add current technology?

Trends are everywhere including in education.
You will find "stuff" tends to circulate!!!

BOTTOM LINE: USE THE METHODS THAT TEACH KIDS!!! ALL KIDS WON'T RESPOND TO THE SAME METHODS. YOU MAY HAVE 15 KIDS WITH 15 DIFFERENT METHODS.

I'm not sure I understand your question 100%.
But, I think that the modern way of teaching is much easier to understand. With the help of PowerPoint presentations and computer technology, children learn more in the class - simply because the teachers prepare the presantations the night before which saves time in the classroom because they do not have to write everything down on the whiteboard or even older - chalk board.
Hope that answered your question slightly =)

A mixture of all teaching styles and methods should be used as all students differ in the way they learn. By being flexible one should be able to ensure all students reach their full potential.

'orses for courses me dear!
The only system that matters is the one that works for the pupil concerned not the latest, the policitaly correct one, or the one laid down as good practice. So use good practice until it does not work ( that covers bum) and then use one which does work.
