I have checked out the official website and a bunch of schools in my area, but I wanted to hear some personal experiences. How was the Montessori training course? Do you feel like you earn a competetive salary? Do you enjoy your job? How do you deal with students who do not adapt to the Montessori style (i.e. are not self-motivating)? Do most teachers stick around for a long time or is there a high turn-over?

Any other info you can offer would be terrific!

Personally, i think that the required algebra/geometry/earth science/etc should be limited to a few and BASIC LIFE SKILLS-such as money and life-should be a required class for every year that you attend public school. You?

I'm a correctional educator and my students are expected to prepare a resume; just to be somewhat related to it before they go into society. Their major concern is, how to find a refference in their community that is willing to eco their skills and personality if they really do not know anybody but the people that got them in trouble to begin with? Could you please help me with some ideas for them? Serious answers only! PLEASE.

Basically, I know I can get along with most age groups. I don't think I want to teach at college level yet, but I know I can narrow it down somewhere between 4th and 12th graders. I'll be working on my masters in education by next year, and hope to finish it within two years. so I think I need some idea as which age group I should focus on by the time I begin my journey...

Maybe this is a vent session, but I just came back from our school's open house and I'm exhausted. The principal and parents were congratulating me on how well everything was...bla bla bla...getting to the point. Why are some parents so consumed on thinking the teachers are wrong. I had ONE parent tonight that told me off in front of all of the other parents and students. She wanted to know why her daughter didn't have better penmenship. I teach 6th grade, not elementary!! That made me feel worthless especially all the back breaking work I did to make this night special. If you are a parent, please be appreciative of your teachers and all they do for your children. They are your children's second parents because they not only have them all day long, but they actually care about them and want to see them succeed just as much as you do.

it means that you should follow along. you could do your work as you follow along or do your work after. but if you find it hard to folow along and do your work you can go home and get help by your parents.
i really agree. because it is easyer if you do it with your teacher than your self because if you need help you could ask him/her for help. your teacher can't come home with you unless there your mom.
