I asked her if I could turn in late work and she said no. It was my notebook that she randomly checks sometimes and she came to me and asked for it and I said "Sure!" proud that I had taked all the notes, done all the BellWork, and all the book excersizes. I look in my backpack and to my disapointment it's not there. In later days I forget about it until I recieve a progress report. I can barely imagine what my face must have looked like when I saw it, as I have worked very hard in that class. I study my vocabulary at home for a long time and frequently visit my spanish tutor. When I ask her if I can turn in my notebook for some type of credit she becomes very hostile and arguminative. I ask again the next day and the same thing happens. My mom sends her an Email asking if I can do an extra credit project to help my grade and she responds "If I let her do an extra credit project then I would have to let everyone else do one yadayadayada....... she's not very friendly" so now

... What issue is important enough in your society today for which you would be willing to take a stand or possibly spend a night in jail?

(I'm asking this because I am EXTREMELY INTERESTED and I just read Resistance to Civil Government by Henry David Thereau - If you read it send me an email :) )

Please, I'm looking for good answers - like you can write a book or even an essay about. I don't want answers that are rude or retard. I'm thinking I would spend a night in jail if a certain race like Middle Easterners weren't allowed to live in the U.S because of 9/11. .. What about you?

I'm a fifth-year journalism teacher and newspaper adviser. I work after school a lot getting the paper ready with the students and when I go home I have NO desire to grade anything. So everything piles up and causes a ton of stress for me at the end of each grading period. How do I stop this vicious cycle?

Should cell phones be banned from school? Why?

I think they should be because they cause disruptions in classrooms, they cause students to not focus on school work, and they are a major issue when stolen.especially in high schools.

Can anyone help? I teach ESOL to multiligual adults and they've had (so have I) a very tough week with exams. My usual Christmas stuff seems a bit stale-plus I am exhausted. Anyone have any brilliant ideas for activities/games with little or no prep?

The teacher asked for volunteers to speak about different careers, colleges, and anything else that may inspire the students to achieve. We are a white family from rural New Hampshire (not even a stoplight in my town) that moved to the city. So my life's experience is very different from an inner city student. I don't want to bore, annoy, or insult these students. At that age who do you look up to? What are some favorite TV shows or movies? What do you NOT want to hear from an adult?

If the teacher says, you must have 4 sources and include footnotes and a bibliography, and it must be 8-10 pages, then why do some students turn in a paper without a bibliography, without footnotes, and not anywhere near the 8-10 pages?

What could a professor do to see that students follow the instructions?

So I am eleven years old. I go to a catholic school and I hate it. My friends are ALL switching to the public middle school when we go to sixth grade....except for me. My mom doesn't want me to because she doesn't think I will do good there, and she thinks that the older kids start fights! I beg all the time which is a big mistake. I cry my eyes out all day because I hate my school. Everyone is mean, and by next year I won't have any friends there! PLEASE HELP! PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE!

I'm a recent college grad who wants to get into teaching holistic health. So I am considering getting another Bachelor's degree in Alternative Medicine and go from there.(I have a BA in Communications, a big change I know) I would really appreciate some advice on how I should continue my education and what resources are out there that would help me out. Thank you! :)

I am curious. I have a degree in teaching, but not my permanent certification. When I got married and started having children, I stopped looking for teaching jobs and just worked part time for extra money. I am really looking to go back to work at a "real" job, but have little experience in teaching, plus need to finish the certification. I know the cert. does not take long, but still am ambivalent about doing this. I know I have a lot of weaknesses, such as being disorganized if I don't push myself and not very good at discipline. Do these things ever get easier? For a while I told myself I shouldn't teach because of these traits, but now I have second thoughts.
I enjoy children, am creative and intelligent. I was an elementary education major. I did preschool teaching, but found I did not enjoy working with children that young. I was thinking maybe early elementary up to 4th grade, I am really a book lover and get excited when children read.
What do you think?
