... What issue is important enough in your society today for which you would be willing to take a stand or possibly spend a night in jail?

(I'm asking this because I am EXTREMELY INTERESTED and I just read Resistance to Civil Government by Henry David Thereau - If you read it send me an email :) )

Please, I'm looking for good answers - like you can write a book or even an essay about. I don't want answers that are rude or retard. I'm thinking I would spend a night in jail if a certain race like Middle Easterners weren't allowed to live in the U.S because of 9/11. .. What about you?

Since you're a woman you could just say women's rights, personally I'd say gay marriage because of people bringing god into it and putting works into his mouth etc.

Henry David T. spent the night in one because of unwillingness to pay taxes right?

If it would help, I would spend a night in jail for any number of things: health care, a living wage, environmental protection, etc. Seriously, what is one night in jail? I'll spend two if need be. Unfortunately, I don't think it would work.

To me, the most pressing issues are 1) war and its victims, and 2) civil liberties. I'd love it if the government would stop destroying other countries, killing their citizens, spying on Americans, and denying LEGAL (yes, legal - people with legitmate visas) immigrants due process.

I am not the protesting type. BUT there is an alarming outbreak of anti semtism in this country and open denial of the Holocaust. It's illegal to deny the holocaust in most European countries but not here. So I say I would be proud to protest and or fight any force that seeks to rewrite history for it's own evil purposes.

...oh yeah... I have a history degree..or two

i'd be unwilling to placed as a lot as an unwarranted search for, and would probable spend the evening in reformatory for it. the ingredient is, police officials who've pulled me over have under no circumstances stated they needed to seek my vehicle, under no circumstances. it truly is because i'm a white lady who seems higher-middle class and who sounds knowledgeable, and that i have been pulled over extremely some circumstances in my life. although, if I were a snug minority male with a vehicle and liscence, my vehicle would were searched by using police officials for the duration of a "habitual" site visitors supply up by using now. i'm also thoroughly unwilling to placed as a lot as a drug try with the intention to get a training job (i'm a instructor). i'd be keen to spend an evening in reformatory over that, yet that couldn't ensue in any state of affairs i can imagine of. I only gained't paintings in a equipment that calls for me to placed as a lot as a drug try. Case closed. this is an intense violation of rights. imagine about it, and study how common they are to pretend, and what a waste of money they are. also, educate me a school equipment tormented by using cocaine-snorting instructors, and that i'd reconsider my opinion. Drug finding out for instructors criteria were no longer some more thing desirable than innovations to get elected.
