Definately made. I say this because of two reasons. My husband is a good teacher but only because he works at it enough to become one. He did have some skills before he started but he is working to perfect them (if that is at all possible). I on the other hand am a mom. I wasn't born that way, I had a mother who taught me the things I needed in order to know what to do. I am a teacher to my children as my mother was a teacher to me. I live every day to make new choices for my children so that they can grow and thrive in an environment that will be the best for them. Sometimes I have to change what I have already thought to be the best for a certain situation. Therefore, teachers are definately made good because they conform to situations.

We are all teachers in our different ways. Professionally speaking, good teachers were not born good, they are just fashioned as time goes by, molded by their own experiences and become good as they appreciate the real nature and beauty of the work. Teachers are individuals who are simply called to respond to the the call of service. Teaching is a vocation but not everyone has a vocation to this "touching-life-task" To teach is to touch lives forever, teachers are not simply born but also made. Same thing with the so-called good teachers.

I'd say born, because I think to begin with you have to be a special type of person to want to be a teacher

Apart 4m joke for any professionals motivated by their teachers only. ie, if you like one singer very most 4m ur heart from ur childhood you'll try to become a singer., and one day it'll come true. So from INSPIRATION only everybody being best on their profession.

The answer can be both - so seem naturally gifted to it and some need to work at it. It can also depend greatly on the subject area that is being taught.
