Primary & Secondary Education - February 2007

I've heard it all--"high school is scary and tough" to "high school is fun--you'll like it--and it has more freedom than middle school".

I'm a 3.34 GPA 8th grader who is very confused. I hate middle school already, and I know I'll have to work harder in high school, but I don't know what to expect, other than I'll have more pressure. Can any of you help me?

It all started when we complained to the school upper administration about my daughters lack of scheduling. (they did not schedule her for classes) They took this personally and have targeted my daughter. They had her removed from her sports, screwed up her schedule and refused to fix it. then denied it to the school board when we complained. Now she has a class a period in her day that has no class scheduled and to mess with us more, they are requiring us to literally come to the school and pick her up for that hour and bring her back. All other students are allowed to go to a study hall class for a hole in their schedule. They simply said they would not accommodate our daughter and we have to check her out and check her in every single day!!!!!!!! My daughter is the only student this applies to. We have done nothing wrong, just asked people to do their jobs. The school board won't do anything who do we turn to? Also, my daughter is Hispanic and no staff at the school is a minority

When I was in school, it was a 20 mile walk, uphill both ways, through the burnings sands and freezing sleet with barbed wire wrapped around my bare feet for traction. I had to carry steel "I" beams one direction and oak logs the other.

But I was lucky.

My dad had a real rough hike to school when he was a lad.

we're taking notes in class and i wasnt really paying attention. and i just copied wat was on the board. it says something about forbidden, charging intrest forbidden, gabbling too. next line it says disapproved of bad but not forbidden.
next line says neutral. next line says good and rewarded by good. next line says obligatory. PLZ explain all these with detail. my teacher is really bad @ explaining things. i asked her to repeat that and she mumbled and made no sense. PLZ PLZ help me! if u dont kno wat the heck my teacher wrote on the board than plz just explain what the five categores of activites of islam is.

I cannot concentrate on my work...i never do any revision for an exam! I just think "oh i dont need to it wil be easy" but then it ends up being hard i just cant do it, i either just go on msn or do other stuff and not revise, please help me what can i do?

Does anybody think this is too hard or too much history for one year? Along with these two, I would also take Honors English, Honors French IV, Honors Chemistry, 1/2 year of gym/drawing I, Honors PreCalculus, which is my sophomore year. I took AP World History as a freshman, along with Honors English, Honors French III, Honors Biology, 1/2 year of gym/health, and Honors Algebra II with very good grades in all.

I do like history, but does it sound like too much?

This is a story for school so it can't be too complicated because I have only 40mins to write it and I write slow. "I" can't be a murder and it might be better if i don't have a murder in it because I always do that and my teachers getting woried about me. Any ideas?

Good news: I get high marks for my instruction, working with kids, parents, etc. I love teaching and I can say I'm good at it.

Bad news: When you come into my classroom, it's probably shocking how messy my desk is, and how much stuff is around. I am a visual person, so I tend to leave stuff out. However, that's no excuse -- the piles of papers and stuff take over by Friday and it's embarassing and probably unprofessional.

Neat people, this question is not for you because I don't know how you think and cannot relate to your process. However, sloppy/visual people: how have you conquered this problem and kept it conquered? Please help!
