it's a job that involves a number of legal, analytical, personal and interpersonal skills with the hope of improving lives. However how this is actually achieved relies on looking at peoples lives, there crisis's and there relationships, seeing what there main problems or needs are and using theories of empowerment, anti-oppressive practice, psychology, sociology with many others to improve the well being of there clients, within the relevant legislation

Common areas of social work include mental health, children and familes, hospital social work, the elderly, adolecent social work and community work.
