Hmm. Good topic of debate. Here's what I think:

Public schools show you (usually) a wider variety of students, and puts you out there in the world. Also, if you are thinking about going to a large university, you'd be used to being around a large amount of people. The cons: the schools are sometimes not in good shape, and especially with money and bond issues.

Private schools have a good education, but can be very sheltering. Plus, I see the money that you have to pay as extreme. However, with a big "pricey" name, sometimes you get into college easier.

So, really, it just depends on the area and the situation on whether or not they should be banned. If parents are willing to shell out the extra dollars, then it should be there.

I really can't think of a good reason to ban them.

The public educational system in the US sucks. We're laughed at by a lot of the world.

Private schools offer an alternative. If they didn't offer a good education or something parents want for their children, they couldn't stay open. Maybe it's purely academics. Maybe it's a religious point of view. Whatever. They provide an alternative to some things that public schools can't provide.

The elitism argument sounds good at first, but not when you think more broadly. It's the same as the idiots who say kids shouldn't have winners or losers in sports. When you don't have an incentive to try hard, you play down to the lowest denominator. You have a bunch of weak bumbling idiots because no one has an incentive to do good.

privet is great for some people for they are in most cases smaller class sizes for more one on one. yet they have less help for special needs kids and kids who need to be challanged more. they can not always fund sports and other groups at junior and senior high school levels if there is not the $'s for them. i say go to some of your area private schools to see what they do and do not offer and check out sites on differnt schoolos around the country to see what offers more

i think private schools should be banned bcuz:
1. they cost more money
2;most teachers there are strict
3. teach a child there and they will bcum big headz bcuz they're richer than kids who go 2 public.

I think if they are paying their own way there should be no objections.
