I think me and the entire class failed Algebra 2, I so certian of this because the teacher attached a summer-school application to the mid-term test and told us to fill it out and have it signed by our parents. If I do fail is there any other way besides summer school.

That I switch classes? I'm in elementary school grade 7 this year and i have just been streamed to a really bad class..which i really dislike. and my ex-classmates urged me to switch to another class which suits my personality better. because i love literature, hence my friend wanted me to join her in the lit class...should I switch? To be frank, the teacher of my class is terrible, classmates are equally terrible and i know i really love lit. help?

My daughter is really depressed at her school. She says she doesn't have a lot of friends, and everyone there bugs her. She's a junior, but wants to transfer even though she only has one more year to go. I don't remember my high school experience being horrible, but I was sick a lot of the time and out of school. Is high school now tougher for kids?

I am an Indian, i live in Japan. I study in 8th grade in an American school. My family is in Japan for 3 years and then we will go back to India. My dad recommends me to change my school and go to an Indian school in Japan. He believes that when I go to India, I will have trouble catching the CBSE/ ICSE syllabus. He told me tenth grade is a very crucial stage in India and it will decide my future, he also told me in 9th grade, if I go to an Indian school in Japan, I will be able to catch Indian syllabus quickly and I will pass the 10th grade with good results. Personally, I dont want to leave American school and go to the Indian school. So, please tell me what you all recommend. I want all serious reply and no jokes.

My high-school-aged cousin is thinking about buying a yearbook for every year that she attends her highschool. That means she would buy one freshmen, sophomore, junior, and senior year. She wants it to remind her of the people who she "shared the high school experience with."

Is it a good idea?

A penny loaf to feed the Pope.
A farthing o' cheese to choke him.
A pint of beer to rinse it down.
A ****** of sticks to burn him.
Burn him in a tub of tar.
Burn him like a blazing star.
Burn his body from his head.
Then we'll say ol' Pope is dead.

how do you feel about the educational system in america? while we were all taught that education is everything, is it? it may account for a lot of our live's successes, but what about those children that so easily fall through the cracks and sleep in class? what did they get out of it? or those who never attended any college, yet have read and traveled enough to know more than most?is their education or non education everything?

I am failing social studies because 2 homework assignments weren't turned in. I know that when I turn them in and then do the extra credit stuff she assigned us, I can raise my grade to a B. But how do I tell them now?

I have a two year old that is not speaking clearly at all. He has had his speech tested and it is fine. None of the speech school here in town accepts insurance and we can't affore the classes without them accepting the insurance. So now I'm seeking to find material I can work with my child on my own. He is not autistic. He just doesn't pronounce the first consenant in his words and it comes out jibberish.

You do not serve your time till the next day. You have to take a note home with the dates of your detention have your parents sign it and call the school the next day. Reasons why detention is given is Tardy for class - Outside of class without a pass - Throwing trash or food - Failing to clean up lunch items - Abusing school property - Not doing homework - Not obeying rules. Failing to go to detention - (A 2hr after school detention period for 15 days.) The other week I was 2 minutes late for school - Late for 2 classes, because I talked to the teachers after my period and than went to my next class period, which caused me to be late - Slamming my locker. This all happened the same day and I was given a 2hr after school detention period for 4 days. Just standing looking at a wall what a waste of time.

An English teacher at my school was recently suspended when a tenth grade student chose to read a book the used profanity and included sexual references. The teacher physically handed the book to the student at the teacher's request, but the teacher did not force the student to read it. Students were able to choose any book they wished to read. The teacher also told the student that he was responsible for making sure it was ok with his parents. The parents complained and the teacher was suspended. Can the school do this? I could understand if the teacher was forcing the student to read it, or if she wouldn't let the student change books. But, it was the student's decision.
