This question brought me back to a time when I received an 'F' in English (yes, because I did nothing to earn anything other than). I used a black pen and made it into a 'B.' Unfortunately, the truth came out when my teacher called my mom (who was a teacher in the same district I attended) sharing with her that I was failing his class and wanted to know what he could do to encourage me to participate and motivate me to complete my work.
Just remember: Whatever you do in the dark, comes to light.
Tell the truth and plead your case. Let your parents know how you feel about this failing grade and your plan to get caught-up ie: Finish the missing assignments, do the extra credit and turn them in. Then, set some personal goals for yourself making your homework a priority so as not to get behind again...
Best of luck to you...

Explain to your parents what you did (or did not do). Let them know that you understand how serious this is, and tell them that your teacher gave you a second chance to bring your grade up. Tell them that you are going to do these things--and complete the work! They may not be happy, but they will appreciate the fact that you were responsible and told them the truth. Also, after you complete the work, they may even have more respect for you because you solved a problem on your own.

Well, do the assignments and turn them in. Get a note from the teacher explaining the situation.
Sit down with your parents, explain to them that you were an idiot, you were lazy and immature and did not do your homework, resulting in the F. Then tell them you did it, and show them the note from your teacher.
And apologize and promise never to do it again. And don't do it again!
I am not sure if you are lucky that you have such a nice teacher, because you are not learning to get your work done on time. That is not good.

Tell them when they are in a good mood. Reassure them that you will raise your grade and possibly show them your improved grades. (I'm assuming you've had more graded assignments?) Acknowledge that you probably deserve some sort of punishment and that you've made a mistake.
In short, take responsibility! Don't blame your grade on your teacher or because you had something else to do.

I was going to say very carefully, but seriously, tell them you need to talk to them, be sure you have their undivided attention (you know you don't want to have to retell your story!)Then, explain that because you didn't turn in the 2 assignments , etc, etc, and you have already "made arrangements" to bring the grade back up. By letting them know you are already turning them in WITH extra credit stuff, shows them you know you screwed up but are mature enough to correct your mistake and are taking responsibility for it by doing "extra credit",too. Good luck!
