the night between 5th jan and 6th jan... like 6th jan's morning and 5th's night.

12th night is the 6th Jan - the night of the 6th NOT the 5th. Based on the Christian calendar, and on the Catholic feast day of the Epiphany - the day the three kings were said to have visited Jesus in the stable. Nothing in the UK now, but still a big event in the calendar for many catholic countries - particularly Spain.
