There is a master's program that has a distance learning program (San Jose State's library science program) that's popular among some of my co-workers who work at a law library.

My undergraduate degree is a 2.81 GPA; the program requires a 3.0 GPA and they are sticking to it....no GRE scores accepted.

How do I get accepted into this program? There are other distance learning programs like this but this is incredibly cheaper (I live in CA) and my co-workers who are in the program know the professors and the work involved.

Would I have to re-enroll in some open university program with my alma mater to re-take one of my screwed-up coursework? Should I just give up and take a more expensive program? Or should I just give it up all together (something I DO NOT WANT TO DO)?

All suggestions are welcome; no smart alecky stuff please.

I'm a 26-year-old woman. I have the dream of going abroad for my master's degree. I know that would make me happy, succesful and it's perfect for my career. The issues are stop working for 2 years and finding how to pay for it. On the other hand, I could stay where I live, pursue my master's locally, keep on working, save money, buy some stuff I want (I want to buy a SUV!!! it's also my dream) and more importantly, continue my 7-month relationship with my boyfriend. Although there are things we disagree, I think he's a really sweet and kind human being who truly loves me, and I know we could adapt to each other if we decide to get married, and be happy together. I'm afraid to lose this in a long-distance relationship if I leave. I don't want to look for anyone else, I feel this could be the one. I already have the experience of being an exchange student and an intern abroad, I just love living out of the country for a while, but i don't want to lose everything now I have.

I will be graduating next fall with a bachelors degree in marketing from a small private college in Iowa. I would like to attend a top 20 MBA program after gaining a few years of work experience. I will likely graduate with a 3.6 GPA. I am wondering if it matters which undergrad one goes to in order to get into a top graduate program. I know they look a gpa and the GMAT scores. I would like to get thoughts on this. Hypothetically, with a 3.6 and a high GMAT would I be accepted to a top program?

My Freshman Year, I had all A's and one C, Sophmore Year I had all A's One B and One C, Junior Year has finally passed and I came up with All A's One B and 2 C's. I am really worried about getting in. If I can't get in I have to delay my dream of becoming a crimsonette. I really don't want to do this. I meet the ACT requirement, and as far as I know the GPA requirement. Can I get in?

Hi everyone. I am a non-traditional student (I'm in my late-20's) who is interested in going to UIC. I have over 120 credits from a community college, mostly science and nursing clinicals. My main worry my GPA, which is below 3.0; I worked full-time as a nursing student (bad idea!). I am wondering what current students and alumni think of UIC, the academics, campus, everything. I would especially like to hear from nursing, non-traditional and transfer students.

Thank you!

I am majoring in Political Science and Communication and will receive degrees in both next year. I have no idea what I want to do after college! I know I want to help people and make a very good living but I do not want to go to Law School. I don't really want to go to graduate school for Political Science either. I wouldn't mind going for Communication though.

I live near New York so I know there are job opportunities out there, but I don't know where to look. What kind of places should I be looking at and applying for? I really want to make a difference in the world but I also want to be able to make a good living. Any suggestions?

Situational Question #1
You are a rich man, being chauffer driven in a brand new limousine to an open house attended by members of the society of importance. You are traveling along a deserted road when you witness a hit and run. The motorcyclist, remains motionless on the ground. Nobody is around to help. What will you do and why?

Situational Question #2
You are a doctor traveling in an airplane on a long distance journey. Without warning, an elderly passenger experiences a heart attack and falls on the ground. As the only doctor on board, you are compelled to do something. The pilot consults you with his only two available options. Would you take a two hour flight to the nearest airport for medical help under torrid weather or would you take a smooth but long 10 hour flight to the nearest airport?
