if there is a temporary reason for doing poorly [you were ill but took it anyway, etc.], take it over.

however, if it seems that taking it over won't help, it is time for your parents to face the music and get over their daydreams about your future.

***
My wife's childhood friend's family is a perfect example. The daughter has two Ph.Ds now, speaks three or four languages very well, and teaches in a foreign university [and not in English despite that she's American].

Her son, on the other hand, is a paramedic with a big city fire department. He also owns a landscaping company and does home remodeling work on the side.

The daughter was always a 'brain' and loved school. The son hated school and always did poorly.

Now that they're middle age adults, he is married, has kids, owns a home, runs a business or two and is a pillar of his community.

She's on her third or fourth husband, owns nothing worth having, and won't speak to the relatives [and mostly not even to her only brother who is now closest kin since their Mother passed away].

Umm -- you get the point here. Who is happier? The son. Who contributes more to his community? The son. Who is worth having as a friend or neighbor? The son.

In the long run, he'll likely end up well off, too. Doesn't look like she'll amount to much though, fancy degrees and languages aren't helping her be happy either.

[disclosure -- I'm married to a University Professor and have two college degrees myself. The son still wins -- hands down.]

Take it again, after studying more. I took it twice. I never did good on timed testings, but I still got to college with the help of my high school grades. If you're a good student, you'll be okay. You don't have to go to ivy league schools to get a good education or job. I just finished my master's degree with a 3.85, so don't let a bad SAT score get you down. You know what you're capable of, just give yourself a chance to prove it.

various college professor talk like this maximum talk like this as a results of fact their pupils do no longer understand the textile so as that they are able to flex there muscle a splash greater. what you do in college is greater significant then what you do in intense college. your intense college grades or SAT's do no longer propose something once you practice for a job. you won't be able to get a intense paying activity with your intense college grades and SAT's scores. i does not advise asserting something to the professor as a results of fact he's already a prick and could take it the incorrect way. he will attempt to fail you. he will seem at your papers much greater and score greater harshly. if he's in simple terms making impolite comments do no longer project approximately it. sticks and stones yet words will by no ability harm me. in elementary terms say some thing if he's attempting to fail you unfairly. the different pupils probable laughed as a results of fact they knew that they have got been given low grades too. i could snicker as a results of fact i could be to blame of that. the artwork that's in touch in calculus 3 is greater stable then whats on the try so be proud which you're doing so properly. various time people who score intense on the try by no ability even take calculus 3.

Be up front with them and say you'd like to take it again because you have a "bad" day.... Then work on a study plan to prepare more for it. You could raise it a few points by having a positive attitude the next time.

Will your present score NOT allow you to be accepted at a college?

What was your score? Your definition of "bad" might not actually be so bad.

Sign up for the SAT again... and study.

Retake it, or take the ACT instead and never submit your SAT's. Most colleges and universities accept both.
