i have to write an essay for the university, i want to get accepted. Help me please!!!
Here is what I am supposed to write about in the essay:

"State concisely why you would like to study British and American studies"

I've started writing but i don't know how to describe it . I mean I'm interested but need some pointers to start ( well i don't know how to describe love learning sth when there's no other reasons :( )

PS: This faculty's in Thailand and the programme was developed in full recognition of the growing importance of the need to understand the cultures of the United Kingdom and the United States, both in their own right and as major influences on the rest of the world, especially on the region of Southeast Asia. Such an understanding is deemed necessary for effective integration and application of specialised knowledge in the multicultural community of the present era of globalisation.

No worries, I am fairly confident of my writing and research skills, but the subject at hand is a very broad one and due to my procrastination I haven't come up with a suitable topic to fill 30 pages, so any suggestions would be great, regardless of their complexity... Thanks!

there is a problem.

I applied for an Honours Degree with Primary teaching and my core subject was meant to be English. But because English was a very popular subject for candidates to choose, i had to pick an alternative subject as well as the English; i chose Maths.

After giving my interview and doing compulsory English and Maths tests, and a face to face interview, i got a letter with a conditional offer.

But it doesnt seem to state which subject im meant to be teaching....English or Maths?
It does say something like "During the interview process it was noted that you would benefit from developing your knowledge and understanding of mathematics..."

Does this mean i have got the Maths course, or does that mean i did bad in the maths test and i just need to brush up?

My husband is a history professor and he has applied for a new job. He sent his application in 2 weeks ago and I keep telling him to follow up with the committee to check his status. He says that in the Academic World follow up is STRICTLY prohibited! He said that he will not call and that I should not call either. Can someone tell me if this is true? Why can't my husband call the Chair of the hiring committee and follow up on his application or to show interest in the position being offered?

How many points do you need to get on your SATs or any of those tests to be able to be worthy of a scholarship? And on top of that, how much do you need to be accepted by a high end university like Harvard, Yale or Oxford?

After reading the New York Times article about UOP's recent legal troubles, lack of accreditation, student abuses, and fraud, my mind about them has thankfully been changed before I spent a dime. I will not be applying as I had planned.

But I do want to get a new degree. I am looking for a career shift, and was thinking of accounting. My work schedule doesn't allow me the ability to take traditional classes in a brick and mortar facility.

Do any of you know of a respectible institution that offers an online bachelors degree in accounting? Thanks.

I was originally going to get a 2 year degree in graphic design
but that doesn't like it can get me a very good career in the long run. My ideal job would be working in the design process and marketing of something (ads for a new movie, promotion for a artists new album, a new product etc.) Thanks and if you have any suggestions on what college that would be appreciated too!

I really need help. I'm currently a freshman elementary ed major at a university in PA and I'm pretty unhappy. I figured out a few months ago that I would just rather commute to school instead of living there. My dad wasn't entirely thrilled when I told him this and now he's started to ignore the issue, so basically the move is up to me. My uncle, who lives and works in DE offered for me to come live with him and go to school down there. He lives about 10 mins away from U of DE, which would be perfect. In order to really cut costs, I would go to Del Tech for a year and then U of DE, so that I get in-state. The big problem here is that I have no license or car. There is a good chance that I could get these this summer and be all set. My dad is really set on me going back to school in PA, but mentally, I don't think I can handle it for 3 more years. I know that if I don't make this decision now, I won't have this chance again and I have about one week to decide. HELP

What school(s) were you accepted to? What was your GPA and SAT/ ACT scores? What is your major? What were your listed extra curriculars or what other factors do you think got you into the school?

For me, I got into Cal Poly SLO, SDSU, UC Santa Cruz, Irvine, and Davis. Denied from UCSB and UCSD. I had a 3.7 GPA w/ a couple hard classes. I'm a bio major. I had shitty extra curriculars, but felt I had a kick *** essay. Undecided to where I will attend... leaning towards Davis or Irv.

Just wanted to know what the admissions boards were looking for :) CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL! WE ARE GOING TO COLLEGE!
