College is quite expensive... so that's a problem for most students, unless they come from rich families...

I always found school to be hard to deal with. My grades were always fine but I just hated sitting in class, writing papers and all of the other work. My parents certainly did not want to use their life savings to send me to college when I was not interested in doing the work. I took classes at a business school and then got a job at an insurance company at entry level. Over the next 20 years I worked my way up into a management position making great money. I always made as much $$ as my peers and after a while no one in my industry even cared that I had no college because of the experience I had in my field. I graduated high school back in 1982 and it is a different world today. I do not know if I would have been given the opportunities today that I was given back then without a degree so I am not recommending this path to you. I think it is unfortunate that college is now "essential" in order to get a good job because I did not want to go and did not have to go.

Its a personal decision, and its not like I can really answer your question, because I do plan on going to college. Besides the high tuition costs, I think it is very well possible. You just have to be focused, and devoted to getting the Degree. I know its going to be hard, and there might be times when I'm gonna wanna give up- but I'm NOT. But its not like the worlds gonna end if you don't go to College.

There are as many reasons as there are people...but try to separate out what are "reasons" and what are "excuses". If money is the problem, there are ways to seek out aid. If the worry is "will I make it", there are tutors and assistance for studying.

A lot of it comes down to physics. The law of inertia is "a body at rest tends to stay at rest". It may not be easy for some, but the challenge is worth it in many cases!

i'm sure there are a variety of reasons. probably the biggest is money. 21years ago when i graduated high school i chose marriage instead of college. i am still married to the same wonderful man and have never regretted my choice. my oldest child is in college now and my 2nd is planning to go, but we couldn't do it without the help of grants and scholarships.

because of low self-esteem, lack of money because it's way too expensive, or lack of quality elementary-high school education.
