there is a problem.

I applied for an Honours Degree with Primary teaching and my core subject was meant to be English. But because English was a very popular subject for candidates to choose, i had to pick an alternative subject as well as the English; i chose Maths.

After giving my interview and doing compulsory English and Maths tests, and a face to face interview, i got a letter with a conditional offer.

But it doesnt seem to state which subject im meant to be teaching....English or Maths?
It does say something like "During the interview process it was noted that you would benefit from developing your knowledge and understanding of mathematics..."

Does this mean i have got the Maths course, or does that mean i did bad in the maths test and i just need to brush up?

Your best bet is to phone the admissions department and find out which offer you have been given. You don't want to accept it and find that you're doing a degree you'll hate! Good luck :-)

speaking from very own journey whilst picking classes for the 2nd and extremely final 365 days of my degree, i'm getting the effect that your utility is for the two classes and the college will inform you which ones direction you have have been given onto once you have completed your effects. in case you meet or perhaps exceed the mandatory effects, you're plenty extra probable to win a place on the English direction, extremely because of the fact the college believes which you should artwork on your contemporary Mathematical skills. via the way, this shouldn't end you from triumphing a place on the direction! All it probably means is that the college will ask you to take extra Maths training or one extra Maths direction which supply you extra self assurance in case you're dispensed to the mathematics direction. I believe the previous replies at right here! I advise which you touch the college once you have completed your effects to verify which direction you would be dispensed to, as via then, the two you and the college could have a extra suitable theory of the place you're at. in spite of occurs, I choose you success with your direction!

It didn't exactly say that you had failed it - so I'm guessing that you didn't do that badly. Else they wouldn't have offered you the conditional place. But brushing up on maths won't hurt for the future. Good luck becoming a teacher!! You're very brave!!
