In the US market, if a product or service is low quality, the price of it has to be low. That is how the market mechanism works. People around the world admire the US for the free market system. So, why college education is a exception ?What is wrong?

This will probably be quite long so bare with me lol I am 22 years old and at the crossroads in my life where i don't know what to do or where to go. I work a dead end job and can't seem to get a job in anything else due to no qualifications. I am thinking of doing an access course to go to a uni doing what i am not quite sure of just yet. Basically I want to know what it is really like everyone makes it out to be a party and people making friends and having a ball but surely it can't be like that if you have loads of hard assignments to do and assesments as well as probably have a job while living in your house. If you study an obvious course for a job like computer science or business management surely with the amount of people graduating you would have no chance of a good job? and then if you did a specialised subject of interest like say geography or film or animals there are already hardly no jobs so wouldnt it end up being pointless in the end? I know people are gonna type stuff-

I'm turning 30 soon and starting to wonder if I might be better suited to an academic career. I have an undergraduate business degree and a master's in journalism. I've been in Asia for several years and would like to continue living and making my career here. Unfortunately, I'm not very impressed by universities in the region. I've heard that some institutions tend to avoid hiring their own graduates in favor of foreign-educated academics.

I've met people who are pursuing PhDs at US/UK/Canadian universities but somehow manage to live here most of the time and even work full time. This is very appealing to me as I now have a lot of business contacts and personal connections here. Does anyone know which reputable universities allow PhD candidates the most freedom to pursue their research/studies while overseas?

I'm interested in Asia-focused economics/political economy and am open to considering reputable universities located anywhere in the world!

I just started a new class. The work is hard, the discussion is hard. Everytime I participate in discussion, people don't listen and change the subject. I told the professor at the end of class that I feel stupid in her class because I am new and plus I feel this way because it seems that nobody elaborates on what I just said (they cut me off).
I told her that I as a person feel stupid in her class and that sometimes I really want to say something but I don't say it because I feel that if I did the class would think I was stupid.

I made a 4.0 GPA in my master's degree. This is the Ph.D program and I am the rookie, so I guess what I say holds no weight, but was I wrong to confess this to the professor and my classmates after the class ended? Did I probably leave a negative impression of myself?

I plan on joining the military after obtaining my Bachelor's in Psychology what options are available in the military other than clinical psychology? I am interested in criminal and abnormal psychology most likely a criminal profiler. I have talked to a navy recruiter about the officer program via email but i just wanted other peoples input, I was told I would have "many career opportunities in the Navy" but it kinda felt like a sales pitch. Wasn't really a specific answer I was looking for.

Long story short, I got into an altercation on the bus this morning and now have a 3 day suspension. What I want to know, is how does this affect my chances of getting into a good college? (I'm in Cali and am hoping to enter Stanford or U.C. Berkeley.)

I'm a sophomore and have an unweighted 4.00 GPA. I've never even gotten a detention before. I get on excellently with all my teachers, write a column for a local newspaper, am the assistant editor at an area youth art and literary magazine (and the only actual "youth" on staff), am a student advisor to the superintendent, have started volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club, am being featured in the sophomore section of the yearbook, and just this weekend I scored the second highest score in the county at the Academic Decathlon competition- the highest score in the school history- and took home 7 medals

But now there's this suspension. How badly is this gonna hurt? Can I turn it around by making it a learning experience?

I will be an incoming freshman at a University of California campus and plan on majoring in biology or marine biology. I was wondering what jobs will be in demand in the future? I am open to attending grad, med, or dental school, but my dream job would be to incorporate research and travel. I was thinking along the lines of National Geographic, Discovery Channel, or PBS, but only found jobs relating to sales, journalism, or photography. Does my dream job even exist?

I am a high school student looking to find a college that I can major in history. I live in the USA but I am preferably looking to find something possibly in a different country (european)

I am looking to become a historian, anthropologist, or an archaeologist.

I am currently averaging about a 3.8 gpa, I have not yet taking any acts or sats.

I would appreciate any websites or colleges I could look up to find info!

Thanks
