I have an interest of going to Harvard. I want to be really successful in life, so I want to go to one of the best schools. The thing that troubles me is my grades. I have never gotten straight A's before. I've gotten very, very close, however. I have always gotten A's and B's. In the first part of the year, I had a 3.8 GPA. My grandfather went to Harvard, and he served on the admissions board, and I heard that having a family member that went to a certain college, especially Harvard, helps a person get in. He said he believes he can help me get in. I am a freshman in highschool, so I have a lot of time to change things, so what can I do to help my chances more? What are my chances?

(Now Im not asking someone to plan my life out for me, I just want some other ideas besides the couple I have now; to see all my options)

Fiance is going to school to be an orthodontist, and Im joining the Marines. I wanted to enlist but Ive been persuaded otherwise by a lot of people; so Im going to go through NROTC (Not Navy, Marines). Ive always known I wanted to go into the military, but if I want to make a career out of it; I might as well put in the extra 4 years and get an education to start out at a decent rank.

But back on topic. I want to go through NROTC (Marines) and come out a 2nd Lt. in the USMC Infantry. My question is, what major would you reccomend for someone that has a decent head on their soldiers but not a genious, that would hate a deskjob.

Im just looking for some ideas here, Ive been looking into Criminal Justive for the past year but I want to see what other people's opinions are.

(Probably going to Purdue)(Indiana)

--Thanks alot

I am currently preparing to re-enroll in college....I am almost through with my freshman year...but I have people at my job that work at the same level as me thave already have a degree--all the way up to master's. If they have a master's and have the same job as someone with only some college....does a degree really make a difference in the work force world? thanks

It is for the school newspaper. It is on whether we believe juveniles shall recieve capital punishment.

I am against the juvenile capital punishment because I believe that the government’s power over its citizens should be limited. It should be limited in certain ways in order to preserve freedom from tyranny. One of those limits should be that the government should not have the right to kill citizens of any age. People make mistakes at every age, even though some of the mistakes are stupid, they should not be put to death for it.

It is also proven that the human brain is still forming at the age when a person is still considered a juvenile. If someone committed a crime that would now a day be considered getting put to death for, then that person shall not be put to death but get tried as an adult, possibly getting life in prison without parole. Death is a relief to criminals who know they will be suffering the rest of their life in prison, why should they be granted that?

I am a freshman in highschool, and I was wondering my chances. I finished my 1st semester with honors. My grandfather, an alumini of Harvard, attended the school, and served on the admission board that lets students in. I hear having a family member that attended a university, especially Harvard, really helps. He told me he thinks he can help me get there. My family has enough money to get me in; it's the grades I'm worried about. What can I do to help me more to get there?

I am 24 years old, I am married and I have a full-time job. I want to go back to school but I don't know where to start. I didn't go to college after high school...I got married instead. Now I want to go and further my education. If I go into Business Administration, I can possibly get tuition reimbursment from my company...But I'd like to stretch into other fields evenutally...medical or maybe law...or maybe both. What do I need to look for in a college and what do I need to do to enroll.. I have no idea how to get started. Please help!!! (I'd like to stay in my current position...I might be able to work part time and go to school too...)
And what about grants, scholarships and financial aid...what do I need to do and where do I need to go to apply for some financial help?
