i want to become a cardiologist, i'd really like to get into princeton for the sole reason thats its the #1 school in the world, but i've been thinkin that i should go to a school thats known for the medical feild...im poor, so i figure i'll go to louisville med.

Johns Hopkins is considered to be pretty fair.

Hahaha, Princeton's not the #1 school in the world. It's the #1 ranked undergrad for 2006 as decided by factors chosen by the magazine US News & World Report. Sure, that's the most popular ranking in the US, but it doesn't mean it's the #1 school in the world. It's only been #1 on that list for a couple years I believe so I'm not sure how you came upon the idea that it's the best in the world.

Yes, it's a very good school and you'll get a great education there, but don't follow the US News rankings as if they're scripture. Generally, Harvard, Oxford, and Cambridge are considered the top schools in the world. I've seen a list that has Berkeley up there so it really just depends on what factors they use to decide on the rankings.

For undergrad, just go to the best school you can get into that has a good science department. Your major doesn't matter, so long as you take all the classes med schools want.

Since you like the US News rankings so much, just pick a med school from that list to dream about.
