I know how you feel - I was in your same situation last year.
What will really help is to get the Princeton or Kaplan reviews for the SAT (although, in my opinion, the ACT was much easier, and gave me a higher score for scholarships).

What I did over the summer was just explore my options. Go to some colleges around you and take a tour. I was lucky to go to any school in my state and tour, and it turned out that the one that was meant for me was only 30 minutes away!

Moving away from home is my biggest fear, but just think about how much you'll grow and learn new things and be independent! If you're thinking about going, oh, let's say 2 hours or so away, definitely check out the dorm rooms. You want to be as comfortable as possible.

Majors...you know that it's like 1 out of 2 students go in as undecided? Get the required stuff out of the way. That way, if you want to transfer, you won't be behind. Plus if there's stuff in your required classes that you like, you could consider majoring in one of those subjects.

And college is definitely a different experience, don't even think about "burning out" if you don't even know what the college classes are like. College is going to be a good thing.

Good luck, and definitely relax. Just explore your options over the summer, and you'll be a million miles ahead of everyone else who's going to get to the 2nd semester of Senior year and still don't have a clue. Enjoy Junior year, because Senior year will fly by sooo quickly.

Honestly? there really is no real answer to get over that. You will always have the past around you no matter what. Just try and realize that bad sh*t in the past wasn't your fault. Life is much to short to be stressing constantly and i understand what you're going threw. I'm on medication right now i guess to help my depression and help me clear my head. I talk to people about stuff that stresses me as well. Go for a quiet walk and clear your thoughts. Hang out with friends, watch a comedy for awhile. What are u afraid of? Look your fear square in the eyes and say You're not scared anymore. Its your life and you won't let it control you. You've had it hovering over your head for a long time now and u put ur foot down and say go. It'll take time but it'll come.

I can tell this is getting to you..first off, calm down. It's going to be much worse when the time comes to fill out the actual applications if you don't calm down now! Think about what interests you most, what you're good at then think about the kind of college environment you'd enjoy..big city? close to home? etc. Once you have these answers, start looking into schools that offer your desired majors/settings. As for SATs, I personally believe Prep classes are a waste of time. I studied nothing at all and went straight into the SATs, scored well enough to only need to take it once. But that's just me. Basically, If you know your stuff, you won't need to take classes--you can just study independently sans all the time/costs of extra classes. I did not give college a single thought until I entered my Sr. year but I found out what I needed and wanted soon...so you need to relax and focus on doing well JUnior year--it's pretty much the most crucial on your college apps. Good luck!

Step one, relax. Don't stop studying but try not to worry. If you have been doin your work over the years you will get into college no problem and do fine on the sat's. If you havn't you still most likely will get into a college.

Don't worry about picking a major either or a college. I am a sophmore in college. Last year my school and major were different. I love my new school and my new major. Just relax, do your best, and you will figure it out.

Sigh .... in the words of Ms. Swan, take a chill pill. I know people are different, but I sure wasn't stressed. What school? Whatever feels right to you. Take campus visits. Talk to people. Do research. Go to a school that has your prospective major. Pick a school where the size, location, and price appeal to you. SAT prep? Unnecessary, in my opinion. I just took the test. Don't think about what you're going to do for the rest of your life. In college, you have two years to decide your major, and you can always change. Alot of people, including me, don't know what we want to be. On the other hand, alot of people "just know". They take a class in college that influences them, or they've always wanted to be something. You'll figure it out. Yeah, you've worked hard in high school. College is hard, too. You have to work hard to reach your goals. I loved moving away from home, but my school is just 20 minutes away from home, which is convenient. Once in college, I'm sure things will work out for you. It did for me. Good luck!

wow......RELAX! Think about it...do you really want to spend ur junior year worrying?....leave that for your senior year when it's time to do the applications. And, when that time comes, take one day at a time, one application at a time, one question at a time and you'll see that it's not that bad.

As for studying for the SAT's....I took them junior year, didn't study for them and i did fine.

Chill out.
Take it one step at a time.
Rome wasn't built in a day.
Research your options.
Make a pros/cons list.
Decide with rational thought.
