I would like some advice on what college path I should take with the ultimate goal of perhaps going on to med school and becoming a doctor. Also, should I major in pre-med? Because I heard that most med schools don't care what your major is, as long as you have the required courses.

Should I:
1.) Go to a decent state school where I may be offered a good scholarship.
2.) Go to a prestigious school (no scholarship) with a class of intelligent students.

Say someone goes to choice 1, and another person goes to choice 2. Both end up with the same MCAT score, but the first person has a 3.6 GPA because the school isn't as competitive as school 2, whereas person 2 has a 3.2.

In the end, will med school admissions staff choose the person who went to the affluent college with the lower gpa, or the person who went to the less affluent school with the higher gpa?
Thanks for your help!

I posted a simple question yesterday, that didn't have a simple answer - well I asked for a single number - there were only two possibilities, and everyone answered wrong.
The correct answer was "2" but everyone posted the answer as "3" which was wrong.
Just a little while ago, I posted a hint in the details of that question.

Which should be obvious if you bothered to read the details.
But peeps are in such a rush, they don't read the details.

By the way, even the level 5's failed to answer correctly - before I posted the Hint. I'll be back in a couple hours to see if anyone bothered to read the hints.

Yes, this is one set of 10 points, you peeps really gotta work for to get.
I think I will start asking more trick questions in the future, for the sake of provoking and stimulating intelligence where it needs to be - you're welcome to help "shake the trees, to see what falls out" and ask some trick questions too.

On my last SAT, i got:
Critical Reading 700
Math 640
Writing 670

On my ACT, i got:a 29

I'm not involved in many afterschool clubs or sports, for a couple of years I did electronics club (please dont ask lol), last year I did auto club, and this school year I will be doing bike club. Last year I worked throughout the schoolyear, and I have proof via a Cooperative Work Experience, a work program monitored by the school, in which I recieved an A+. I also worked this summer at a bicycle store, and will be working throughout the schoolyear. This summer I also volunteered at a food relief organization, and I will continue to do this througout the school year.

Not counting my junior year (which was last year), I had a cumulative GPA of 90.5. However, last year I literally got all A's and A+ in every class, every quarter, and that grade improvement hasn't been factored in. I am in no remedial classes, and I go to a very competitive high school (Syosset high school, ny).

Thanks

I am a Freshman in high school and have wanted to be a pediatrician for as long as I can remember. Now that I am in high school I would really like to start looking at the best pre-med and med schools that would get me through to be the successfull doctor that I want to be.
I need to know good colleges/universities to search and read up on so I can get a head start on different things.
Also, does anybody have suggestions on classes to take in high school to help me prepare for this career?

I currently go to this school and am planning on majoring in business. But all the kids there seem stupid (compared to the kids I know in my hometown, Boston) and wild and do nothing but drink and party. I hate the city because it's so run down and doesn't feel safe.

I am also a minority and the school is not very racially diverse. A lot of people there are racist and not afraid to show it.

Is this school a good and well known business school? I am thinking about transfering but I'm not sure if this will put me behind on graduating due to different requirements from different schools.
