What is Orienatlism?

I am supposed to an assignment on Orientalism and how it's evolved into prejudice and discrimination against Muslims and Arabs in the last century. I have no clue what it even is, let alone try and do an assignment on it. Best answer gets 10pts. WOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
