I was wondering whether you believed if it would be better to hold a child back in kindergarten or push
them forward to first grade? The child is on an IEP and they
increased thier services but he/she is still behind in all academic areas. As a parent I say hold the student back now or never. The school says they do not have the space in the inclussion classroom so the student goes forward. How do you feel about this and what are some
benefits to either decisions?

Please help ease my worrying mind.
Thank you in advance for your input.

For my advanced english class, I have a final project on a certain theme and five works of literature that go with it.

I chose "the many faces of love" and...
- The Gift of the Magi (short story) : Love of a person
- America the Beautiful (song) : Love of a country
- Life for Today (song) : Love of life
- Firewall (movie) : Love for a family
- Harry Potter 5 (novel) : Love for friends

I need to now create a fun project that incorporates these five works and theme. I thought of writing a story or poems, but I'd rather have something more crafty and creative.

Any ideas? I'd really appreciate it!

I never thought I would fail a class, but the day has come, I got back my test grade and it's not good. I can't even comprehend why I got such a low grade....every1 in the class can't. I think this guy isn't usin the right answer key, or somethin! I felt like I knew that material like the back of my hand, and I did...I reviewed the book problems constantly, and even did online problems aswell, so I know I comprehend the subject! 2day in class the teacher was givin a formula, and then when he looked at the book, the book gave a simliar formula but flipped! ex(d=m/t teacher)(d=t/m book) (Those formulas arent any real formulas I know of, I just made those up) and he just said he didn't like the way the book was teaching, and that it was stupid. So I'm wondering if the book is teaching us to use formulas to solve problems that he's using different formulas to solve...I mean I know he's from a different country but I doubt thats possible, and yet maybe that's the case. What do I Do?

“Isabelle Lee Has A Problem.”
This problem is bigger than her sister April (which she calls Ape Face); it’s a problem that many girls (and some guys) go through. Isabelle has an eating disorder called Bulimia Nervosa, where the person stuffs themselves with food and then makes themselves vomit. Isabelle lost her dad and this and other kinds of things that other teenagers go through triggered this. Isabelle’s mom found out what Isabelle was doing from April and now makes her attend “Group” once a week. When Isabelle attends her first meeting she is surprised to see the most popular girl in school, Ashley Barnum. Isabelle and Ashley soon become friends and are bingeing and purging together. Join Isabelle on her horrific and life threaten journey as she tries to deal with a depressed mother, the loss of her dad, and struggling with bulimia. This book shows what many girls are going through and how hard of time they have. It also sets an excellent example of dealing with bulimia. “Perfect” has terrific information in the back of the book explaining eating disorders and some places to get help. If you are looking for a book with a valuable lesson, interesting facts, how teenage girls struggle to be “perfect,” and struggles of one teenage girl, this is your book. Open “Perfect” and be amazed.

We, as parents, disagree with the results. The school says they can't help my child because she scored in the average range on the evaluations they gave her. But she is failing all of her classes and has a note from our therapist stating that she has several learning dissabilities. What can we do to counteract the desicions of the school? Can my daughter still quailify for special ed. (ps. we live in So. California)
