It means theres starnge phenomena goin on in the area such as Poltergeist, ufo sightings etc. In 1979 a university did a study ont hsi and found that people in areas where the sneaker occurence happened believed in the paranormal more than people that dont live in such areas. Furthermore a vast bibliography on the subject reveals that sneaker hanging has been studied by a vast array of scientists seeking to give explanations. Still, the phenomenon attains different interpretations according to region. In Antarctica for example, sneakers hanging from a line means that aggresive polar bears are stalking that area.

reckoning on the section in which you spot the shoes, that's a gang image or an illustration of somebody merchandising drugs. it may additionally mean that some new child has lost his shoes as a shaggy dog tale. seem on the circumstances, and choose from that.

It means that the kid wants some new shoes and is getting rid of them. Then they go and tell a lie and get new shoes. All these myths are stupid and you shouldn't believe them.

I read all your answers. To me this doesn't mean is drug related who ever came up with that never had the chance to stop in that neighborhood and give away free new sneakers. Must kids do it for fun because they are bored.

it started in ghetto/gang neighborhoods. it meant drugs were dealt there. (drivers could see the shoes from far away). nowadays, it is either some white kids pretending to be big time drug dealers or they just threw some shoes up to be funny.
