This is as bizarre as it is troubling. I've not realized how people don't understand grammer (er, grammar) or speling (er, spelling). I know the typing style is informal, but this is ridiculous. In the course or reading answers to, say, three questions, I can find over 30 different misspellings and another 16 grammatical screw-ups.

What are we doing wrong in America?

Would using facts and tidbits the professor told us in class be plagerism if I didn't cite them? If I don't cite them, then that means i'm claiming them as my own work, but I have no idea how to cite my professor. Any ideas?

2nd round QTAC offers come out tomorrow and I am anxiously awaiting a (hopefully positive) response. If I am unsuccessful through the QTAC process, does anyone know of other ways to get into QLD Uni's? I want to do a BA (creative writing) or a straight BA.

I am 21, which makes me a mature age student. I sat the STAT test at the end of last year, as I didn't get an OP at high school. I don't really want to wait 6 months for mid year offers, and am also reluctant to apply for a job, due to personal circumstance.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I go to a community college and recently I have started the new spring semester (well like a month ago) and in one of my classes I have already missed 4 sessions because of being sick. I tried to email my teacher but she has not responded back. I'm a little scared to show my face in class, because attendence is strict in that class. Its actually a self help class, to help choose your career or major, Id love to still be in it but I'm scared of my grade and different things. I'm considering dropping it since I already know I want to be a kidnergarten teacher, but still I'm ashamed. I dont want to tell my parents, when I drop it I will only be taking 11 units. And last semester I dropped two of my classes. I'm very ashamed, and I want to pretend like I'm going to that class twice a week, but I hate lying and I don't know.

Have you ever had someone ask you: "Are you coming with"? Instead of saying: "Are you coming with ME"?

I hear this more and more nowadays and it's like fingernails on a chalkboard to my ears! Anyone else bugged by this?

I am in the IB program at my school in the top 1 percent of my class. I took the PSAT this year and ranked at something like 98% against juniors. I have been receiving emails from colleges because of the PSAT. I was wondering if there is anything that I can really do right now about making colleges interested or whatever? besides keeping doing well in school, etc.

my mom is so annoying everytime report cards are comming around i have butterflies in my stomach! If i get a B she makes me feel like a failure!! I get good grades and yet she still compares me to my cousins. I am so presured and i cant have a normal conversation with her without talking about COLLEGE!!

I am a highly social person that would like to find a career that involves the social aspect as a large pillar. I'm not the type that would like to be in a lab or crunching numbers. I'd rather be speaking with people, talking, in front of people, etc.

Any idea what -CAREERS- I could do?
My personality fits that of maybe a teacher, but that's way too low of pay :)

Can you explain the difference between a refereed conference and a non-refereed?
Also does this sound like something that I should bother with, or will it not be beneficial in the grad school admissions procedure?
