I have a friend who just moved there and I would like to send her a gift card for a local, non-chain place. Type of food is not particularly important but a place with a great atmosphere is.

I went to go to Atlanta Bread Company today at lunch at Traders Point (86th and 465 on the West Side of Indy) and it was closed. No reason stated, no warning or anything. Does anyone know why? What happened? Did they move? I was really craving ABC and now am thoroughly disappointed! :(

My husband and I don't make it to Chinese restaurants often as he thinks they are best in the morning, when the food is fresh. (He may be on to something there. The one time we went for dinner, we were both sick after. However, I did the not bright thing and not eat all day, so that didn't help either.) We went to a Chinese restaurant in Lansing last week and I was amazed at how meat happy they were. I guess I foolishly thought that since (to my knowlege, I coule be wrong) Chinese/Asian culture isn't too big on meat but eat plenty of tofu, there would be more vegetable dishes there. Nope. Therefore, is there a good place in Detroit to St. Clair Shores? I don't want to spend $6 for a couple of plates of sticky white rice wit some vegs drenched in soy sauce.

Thanks.

Near the hotel that does not cost a fortune. Most restuarants in the hotel are very expensive.

My husband's favorite dessert is flourless chocolate cake. But it is so difficult to find restaurants that serve it. Your help is greatly appreciated.

What do you say?

Recently in a court it was ruled that a burrito was indeed not a sandwich.

So, would you say that a wrap is a sandwich?

I say no, my friend says yes. We are waiting to hear what you say!

I'm a frequent visitor, and I'm IN LOVE with Giordano's, Hecky's, and Max and Erma's, but I'm always up for more recommendations. Price is no issue. I frequent Schaumburg, but location is no issue either.

I'm not looking for national chains, though. I want some holes in the walls and local chains.

Thanks!

Since finding out a local franchise of a very well-known sandwich shop, as well as a pizza service next door, was recently shutdown due to violations, I am very reluctant to eat out and I really enjoy eating out.
Are local health inspections public knowledge and if so, where can I get them?

Finally going to NY for my birthday. Just a quick weekend trip. I know there are tons of restaurants. It sure would be helpful if someone gave me some names to get started -- all price ranges.

I'll be in the Time Square area.
