I know that I do because I have been a waitress and bartender before. I actually usually "over tip" unless the service is completely horrible.

I think it's terrible when people leave lousy tips. If you go out to eat then you should expect to pay extra because of a tip.

Well first of all I live in Atlanta, Georgia and my b-day is coming up! Every year I only hang out with my bestest gurls and like those years this year will be the same. What we do is go out to a nice restaurant, eat, and then maybe go out clubbing or bowling or whatever. The thing is that I'm tired of going to the same old restaurant (Olive Garden) I mean I love it but EVERY YEAR come on! Can somebody give me some hints at what restaurant to eat and maybe what to do after that? It's gonna be on a Friday night!!! Help, please make my b-day a happy one where everyone is satisfied! Thank you!

I am taking my first trip to NYC and I just want to find a few places around where I am staying (Broadway Plaza in NYC) to have good places to eat period. Moderately priced would be fantastic but if I must spend a little bit pf money to enjoy a nice meal then so be it. I need addresses or streets or places that I can Google. Thanks for helping me in advance.

Enjoy your day!!

Jessica

I went to a new restaurant in my town yesterday. It is a bar/pub type restaurant. They have the ability to open the windows and the windows have screens on them. We have had cold, and then very warm weather recently. I am thinking they must have had either their windows or doors open b/c when I went in there yesterday, the inside of the restaurant just had flies everywhere. It was practically an infestation. The servers just seemed to ignore it. What would you have done? I finished my drink and left without ordering food b/c I lost my appetite very quickly. What was the correct course of action?

Its my boyfriends bday this weekend and he loves sushi. I want to take him somewhere nice. I've heard that restaurants like maki maki are corporate so the food isn't that good.

"Um, well, a happy birthday to you, then!"

What do they expect?

You guys ever get that from guests? They come up to you thinking that just because it's a birthday they're entitled to something; a free dinner? A free dessert? They expect you to run over to the mall and buy them a present?

It doesn't happen often, but when it does, it's kind of embarrassing for everyone involved. Most just expect you and some of the staff to sing to them (which I abhor), but others want to milk the restaurant for everything they can get. How sad and pathetic!

Any thoughts or stories from you waitstaff past or present?

While I wait for my liquor license to get approved, how can I allow patrons to bring in their own alcohol for consumption in my establishment? I do not plan to sell alcohol until license is approved, but would still like people to be able to bring their own.
