Give either the H hotel on 59th street, or Kelly's on 5th Ave.
I assume that you mean in Manhatten.
Lovely typical NY, NY breakfasts. All the stuff at a goodly price.
If you are elsewher within the tri-state, a little place called Jordies on the Bronx is splendid.
Tell them that you know of "Geordie", and all will be well with as much stuff as you want for around $15.
Anyway, there are no lack of things & places to try out.
Or simply have a bit of a try & fry-up in Greenwich Village.
No lack of choice.
All the best, et bon appetite.

Wish I could remember the name of the place but I can't. Go past the Port Authority bus terminal with that on your left, turn right onto 9th or 10th into Hell's Kitchen district. Within a few hundred yards there's a 24 hr diner that does all the pancakes/jelly/bacon etc etc and all possible combinations that you could desire. Waiters are also typically brusque and ill-mannered New Yorkers. Enjoy your trip!

I agree that Sarabeth's is the best New York breakfast. Please note that there are multiple Sarabeth's locations, so you find the one nearest you.

I say that bagels and cream cheese are a more "typical" NYC breakfast. A well regarded place (Murray's, H&H, Ess-A-Bagel) is your best bet.

And lastly, most New Yorkers are not "brusque and ill-mannered", as a previous poster noted.

Bon Appetit!

Try the Reinquest. It's only 1,500 dollars for two scrambled eggs, potatoes, toast, jelly, coffee, rolls, and a finger cup. LOL ;-)
