Also, would it be possible to save power if the screen usage could be made smaller for when the big 40 inch screen is not required, eg. wathcing the news etc.

Apple has been running these adds for a while trying to make PCs look bad. I think that the guy trying to be cool representing Apple is actually more of a dork than the PC guy any one else agree and if so why or why not.

Our Mitsubishi HD TV purchased from Best Buy and still under warranty stopped working 5 weeks ago. Best Buy Home Service Department tells us that the part is on back order and they keep adding time as to when we will get the part and have our set fixed. We have gone from 11/3 to it will be fixed by 11/7 to 11/16 to 11/20 to 11/27 to 12/1 to 12/17 to 12/20. They also tell us that we can't request a new TV until after 12/ 20 and then we have to wait until it is approved and that could take another 2 weeks . We need Help. We feel we are getting the run around. At any rate why have a service contract if there is no service?

We just bought the ilo 42" plasma and the picture is awful - it's so grainy. We don't have the HD receiver/programming because it's just too much money right now - but we were hoping the picture would be more clear. Any suggestions?

I have a Sony 1080p tv. I'm looking at my HD DVD player i just bought and it says that it is a progressive scan and it has an output of 1080i or 720p via a HDMI. Does this mean i won't be able to watch it in 1080i because i have a 1080p? Will i have to have a 1080i tv? My calbe output is a 1080i output, will this mean that the picture will look better on a 1080i tv or my 1080p tv? I somehow feel like i should have bought a 1080i tv because i won't be able to play things that are in 1080i, am i totally off on this?

thx for the help.

If I have comcast digital cable box in my living room set up and I want to hookup cable in a downstair bedroom by just hooking up a coax cable directly into the cable jack (bypassing the box). What would happen? Would I get standard cable?

I've been planning on buying either a digital or HD tower antenna. But if it's not going to last, I don't want to throw my money away. (Or are they just getting rid of the analog signal -- meaning the digital antenna will still work?)

I have a 13" Zenith television that is about 15 years old. I use it in my kitchen, when I'm cooking, to watch the news.

Lately, the picture has been problematic. There are lines that completely blur the screen.

At first, I thought it was the reception and adjusted the antenna but I noticed that when the lines stop "scratching" the screen, that the reception is perfect. Therefore, the antenna is not the problem.

However, the clear images are very rare. Most of the time, the images are impossible to see on the screen and colors are bleeding into each other. It's hard to describe but I would have to characterize the issue as HORIZONTAL STATIC.

Does anyone know what this is about? Any suggestions on how to fix it? I'm not ready to buy a new tv, especially when a perfect screen occurs up from time-to-time.

Thank you.
