My daughter thought the colors on the tv screen were cool when she used my 5lb magnet on the screen. Now I have shadows and funky colors all the time. Anyone know how to degauss a television? CRT.

If i were to buy a Tivo box would i still need to pay for service or would i be able to just start digitally recording my shows? My friend got a DVR box and he doesn't need to pay for any kind of service. Does the Tivo or any other DVR box make your cable digital too?

I just baught a new LCD HD TV but i only have a coax cable going into the TV. The TV has a HD tuner built in and i can tell the HD channels are a lot more detailed. Am i seeing HD tv or can it be better? Do i still need a digital cable box to see TV in Digital cable or does my HD tunner do it for me?

I purchased a brand new Hitachi 32" in December but ever since I have noticed while watching tv (through satellite) that the picture flickers at the top, and appears hazy. What is the most likely cause of this? Dodgy cables or poor aerial, or is the tv faulty?

I have a 42" LG Plasma TV. I have only had it a year and a half and the color has gone out. Everything looks green! No reds at all. Is this a common problem, will it cost a ton to fix it?

As a sidenote, I recently got a PS3, do you think playing games on this TV caused the color problem? I haven't had any "burn in " issues, just color.

when i watch shows on my panosonic plasma screen some of the show is cut off for example i am watching foot ball and the score is cut off. its not just the channel becuase it does this on other chennels with news and advertisments. i know its not the zoom becuase i have reset the zoom before. please help! will choose best answer.

My Sony Flat Screen 32 inch Trinitron just shut off and won't come back on. The stand by light flashes every 3 - 4 seconds and when I hit the power button, i can hear that "TV" noise when you first turn on any tv, but then it makes the same noise and does not turn back on. I'm in North Carolina and it's beenraining for about 5 hours now.

* All of the other electronics plugged into the same outlet are working

* It's raining

* TV is about 4 or 5 years old.

* Stand by button is flashing

...like shadowing the figures on the screen. Almost like a halo. Only in green. The TV gave us no prior symptoms.

Watched it the night before no problems, turned it on in the morning. It pop on and off and has been like this ever since.

Any hope, worth repairing?
