My Sony Flat Screen 32 inch Trinitron just shut off and won't come back on. The stand by light flashes every 3 - 4 seconds and when I hit the power button, i can hear that "TV" noise when you first turn on any tv, but then it makes the same noise and does not turn back on. I'm in North Carolina and it's beenraining for about 5 hours now.
* All of the other electronics plugged into the same outlet are working
* It's raining
* TV is about 4 or 5 years old.
* Stand by button is flashing
Please help, the playoffs are on!

I believe the no of stand by flashing can help to indicate which part of your TV is broken. If you can hear sound like it's going to turn on, I think the power is fine, next step to check the protection section, this kind of problem usually comes from deflection section.
