I want to buy something I can play hd dvd's and regular dvd's on. I saw something for sale called an "upconverter". Will that play HD DVD? Do I need to buy that and a straight up HD DVD player? Please help. Thanks.

They both have RCA jacks, so I was wondering exactly what the physical difference is: what kind of wire, shielding, etc.

I currently have a Bose AM15 setup for movies and I have a Velodyne CT-100 to take care of the extra low end. I'm no audiophile but the Bose sounds "lacking" for stereo music. 5.1 movies sound OK though.

As far as dedicated stereo speakers, I'm only really familiar with the really good reviews on the Bose 301's. Do you recommend another brand and/or model?

I'm looking to spend about $500 a pair max.

I want to buy a Blu-ray player. I was looking at the Sony Blu-Ray player and other brands. What is the difference between just a Blu-ray player and PS3, which one is better and more convenient to buy? My TV is HD capable.

...what is that thing called that you can put on top of the TV that is a "reader" for the remote and has a wire back to the cable box? I am trying to price one online but I have no idea what they're called or where to find one. Not looking for a "remote control extender" where it lets your remote go through walls. I just want the little eye reader that you stick on the top of the TV. Thanks in advance for any help!!

I want to get my husband a surround sound system that is compatible with his xbox 360 for Christmas, but do not know what I need or what is a good deal, or isn't.

I found this system at walmart.com
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5280864#Item+Description

For those in the know, is that a good system? If not, what should I get?

Thank you!
