Our sanitary sewer flooded the basement and ruined everything down there including my son's baby videos. We are trying to preserve whatever tape which can be salvaged.

It's the 990 model and I need the drivers for the USB connection. I misplaced the installation disk that came with the camera. I've already tried the store where I bought the camera, no luck. I've tried to locate access through the Sony website but it's a bit cumbersome.
I'm willing to purchase said drivers but I can't locate any to make an order. Any ideas?

I want to purchase a cam corder (most likely Sony or Panasonic) but I do not quite undestand the difference betwenn Hi8, Video8, Digital8, MiniDV, DVDcam, HDD, and so on. Which are the latest formats (I think it is the HDD and the DVD).
Besides please give me your opinion on some good one to buy. I want it for my proffesional use as a dentist (to film clinical procedures) which means it must have MACRO and for lesure... Desired characteristics are image stabilizer, night view, incorporated light and possibility of connecting external light.

I know that if I buy a Sony HDR-HC3 HDV camcorder it will record my videos on MiniDV tape and I can edit them with an HD-capable editing software. If I connect the camera directly to an HDTV it will show at full 1080i resolution but I DON'T want to use my camera as a VCR. I also know that if I transfer the video to DVD it will be down-converted to 480i (the highest DVD resolution).

So, my question is: What media format do I use to preserve my 1080i resolution? Are the new HD-DVD or Blue-Ray my only options? I don't want to use my computer as a DVR either.

I want to be able to take still shots as well as make videos. Also, the files can be uploaded to either Mac or PC. Not sure what price range, so I'll leave that factor open.

I want to be able to add special effects (like making my friend's eyes look like they are just blue lights) and to remove identifying background details like store signs and license plates by blurring them out or pixellating them or just putting a black box in front of them or whatever. Is anyone aware of any software that will allow me to do this? When I search on "digital video editing" all I ever find is non-linear editors which I already have. I need video effects editors that let me do more than just add a title or transition effect. I need to be able to modify frame contents. I don't a huge budget so the cheaper the better. Free would be great, but I'd be happy to pay for something that will allow me to do what I want to do. Thanks in advance!!!

to use (I am not technically inclined!) Our price range is $400-500. I also dont' understand the different things that you can record onto...mini DVD's, DVD-R's, 8mm...please example what would be easiest for me to just be able to point and shoot footage and watch it.

2006-07-24 15:52:07 · 5 answers · asked by rawrTOyou 2

With backround music, text, ect without actually have to record it on your actual camera.
Like there is music in the backround and then you see a black screen with text and then you see like a person[video not picture] and it has her name or something. Like laguna beach, it shows their name.
Please tell me a site? Or please explain how. <3

I am trying to buy a hard drive camcorder online, but the description says the camcorder is NTSC format. I thought digital camcorders were all formats, cant they be switched? Whats the difference? Does that mean I cant use it in a PAL country?

Hi... I'm looking for a minidv camcorder (3ccd, and 1 or 2 lux)... Or any other camcorder that has great video quality as well as good-enough still picture quality... I have no idea as to what model to purchase... I've read that 3CCD offers great quality and low lux (1 or 2) is great for capturing video/pictures at night... Any suggestions (models, brands)? Answers will be greatly appreciated... :-)

PS: Budget range is from $0 to $900
