Looking to buy our first video camera and are pretty impressed by the new HD cameras. However, wondering if HD is better or the 3 CCD technology when it comes to actually saving, editing and repurposing the video. I may buy Sony DVD905 or NV-GS150(I think pavasonic) it uses DV tapes..but I'll not have a computer where I'm going to,to empty the pic's..(travelling for a long time) & I don't want to buy a lot of DVD's or DV tapes...any Ideas please i need answers fast....really important...I need help...I need Ideas...wich cam do U think is better?

it's a basic mini dv camcorder, no memory card, DP-101, I have taken it to a camera shop and they have advised me that it will cost anything up to £150 to repair the machine. is there anyway I can remove this myself without having to pay this extortion amount of money. I have checked the tape and that is not protected. the batteries are both working ok.

I bought a zr80 2 years ago.. i connected my cam using a firewire to the computer.. heres the thing.. i cant import... i tried using adobe or windows movie maker.. but still it doesnt work..the computer doesnt even locate the zr 80. how is that possible? what should i do so that the computer cna recognize the camcorder? thanks!
