I bought a brand-new SONY HDV HDR-HC1 camcorder with HD1080i capture. I was really hoping to hook up my XBOX 360 to the device so that I can edit some videogame footage together for a side project. In the manual, it talks a little bit about capturing video footage from a VCR, so there's gotta be a way to do this. There are no direct inputs on the device; is there a connector so that I can connect the component cables from both devices to each other, and make my 360 an output signal (so the camcorder would receive the image)?

I don't know much about any of today's technology. The little vid. tape I have says ' sony HG120'. It also says 'Exlnt. High Resltn. P6-120HG', and 'Video 8'. We don't have any way to play the tape and I would like to view it either by computer or DVD. The tape is approx. 2 & 1/2 in. X 3 & 3/4 in. in size.

TheDCR-DVD405 IS 1 STEP BELOW THE DCR-DVD505; THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BESIDES MEGAPIX/PRICE IS THE TYPE OF IMAGING RESOLUTION. 405 USES ADVANCED HAD CCD IMAGER & 505 USES CLEAR VID CMOS SENSOR. What does these two mean anyways? Which is higher quality and is it worth paying $130 more for the 505, which has the clear vid sensor? Please advise.

I am planning to buy a camcorder and have shortlisted some MiniDV models like sony26e/36e/46e and Canon Elura90/100(MVX40i/MVX460). I have read that Canon cameras have a slow auto focus system and also record button operating noises. Elura100 also have a non-extendable eye piece and the size of Elura90 is much bigger than the orhter models I have mentioned. I don't like the touch control panel of Sony which may malfunction in due to continuous operation and also don't have analogue pass though. I am totally confused. Please help me giving particular attention to the two problem I have mentioned.

I'm looking into buying a camcorder and have seem a few people say that the mini DV formats are the best. I just want to ask how I view these through my TV or computer and how easy is it to transfer what I record to my computer and/or a DVD? I don't have much knowledge of computers and don't want to do anything "fancy" just record and transfer to my computer and a DVD. Any suggestions as to whether another format would be more suitable are welcome and if anyone has any reccomendations of good makes.

I have to send in 26 MB of .avi files, but they only allow 5 MB, how do I shrink the size of these things? (without creating any kind of compressed files.) I prefer mac but I would be fine with windows too. I'll even buy software. I'd like to keep them as close to the original resolution as possible, would converting to .mov be better? Does Quicktime Pro do these sorts of things? Thank you very much!!!!
