One of the model of camcorder of Canon India, MV850i, has no AV terminal. However it has a PC connection kit by which Analogue signals can be coverted to digital and stored. How about TV signals.

As you have mentioned, there is no a/v terminal (that is input hopefully), therefore, that particular model cannot record directly from any analog source using it's a/v cable.
That PC connection kit is either usb or firewire cable that is not compatible with other analog devices like the regular tube.

If you're in dire need of recording tv programs and have a computer, purchase a tv tuner card for your computer instead, and save directly to it without the need to pass through the camcorder. You'll be amazed of its other features too.

glad to be of help

well most tv signals are analog (unless its something like hdtv or digital cable), so you should be able to connect it to the cam, and the cam to the computer. hope this helps!
