Stick with Panasonic and JVC. They're your best bet. And don't get the ones that will play the mini-DVD's. Those can only hold about 30 minutes of footage average. The ones that use DV tapes can hold about 90-120 minutes. Be sure to get a firewire cable to transfer video to your computer, so you can burn multiple movies onto a DVD.

MiniDV tapes are your best bet. The quality is better than DVD, you can record longer, and the best part: they cost much less. Check www.bhphotovideo.com and www.abesofmaine.com. Both are reputable sites with great prices. Be careful buying online, many sites have very low prices but then charge an arm and a leg for accessories that are supposed to come with the camera, like a battery and USB cable.

And yes, as one of the posters here said..."you get what you pay for" (mostly). But why pay more for the very same item? Shop around! I paid $30 for an open box external DVD drive, and the going price was $200.

Definately mini DV. This format a techniques strips DVD for versatility and reusability. Dare I say photograph high quality additionally. it will be around for many moons yet. evaluate a device that has 3CCD.... shade determination is plenty better. you likely have a brilliant reveal television specific? Then make specific the digicam information in sixteen:9 ratio. digicam stabilisation... forget it, in basic terms discover ways to hold the digicam extra useful. My tip is to swerve previous the Canons, Sonys, JVCs and head promptly for a Panasonic broking. The GS selection is amazingly nicely recognized. I definitely have the GS250, it purrs.

How much money are you willing to spend. I mean i've seen mindv camcorders for around $200. I have a camcorder and I decided to spend a little extra money to get the minidvd kind. They just seem so much more convienient.
