I had trouble finding any info on this camera. I have had great experience with the Canon GL2 and XL1. Depending on your budget, one of these is probably your best bet. It records on digital MiniDV tapes. The image quality is amazing, and it has all the features of a professional camcorder plus the ease of use of a consumer model. Its great for DVD production because it easily connects to your computer to transfer video.

Nick, is very right, you don't need that Sony bvp5 camcorder, that is about a year like 1988, and these professional Canon camcorders, are great! Perfect picture quality, features, and a good lense is what you need! And, the Canon Gl2, and Xl1, etc. is perfect, and if you don't like Canon, go for Sony, JVC, or Panasonic, they are very good too!

no camcorder that makes use of SD playing cards is specialist. the optimal datarate is merely too sluggish, quite for HD recording. The tremendous compression codec AVCHD isn't perfect for modifying, broadcast or conversion to action picture DVD. the merely venue for AVCHD is blu-ray discs or Youtube. the merely less expensive specialist codec is MPEG2, meaning HDV tape or P2 memory playing cards. edit, be conscious that the Canon makes use of CF for video, no longer SD which it ought to apply for nonetheless photos. it has the MPEG2 codec that works in HDV tape emulation mode (25 mbps) and 35 to 50 mbps. the reason of the HDV emulation is that works with maximum low end HD video modifying classes. 35 and 50 mbps calls for some notably heavy responsibility pc and software equipment to edit. also this variety is presently "vapor ware", it does no longer exist in shops, yet.
