How do you preserve VHS-C tape which has gotten wet?

Our sanitary sewer flooded the basement and ruined everything down there including my son's baby videos. We are trying to preserve whatever tape which can be salvaged.

basically, if u can, unscrew the screws on each corner, carefully take out the cover and sun it. Don't remove the entire tape out, u will ruin it.
