can anyone help me please? i have the above video camera. we bought a new sony battery because the old one was not holding its charge and we thought it had had its day. now when we go to use the camera the new battery is empty even when it has been charged fully. any ideas as to why this could be happening please ... thanks in advance.

camera is not new but the battery is a brand new sony one. it charges fine and at firts has the full 1 1/2 charge. then i turn it off and leave it. next time i go to it in maybe a couple of days it has discharged completely....thanks again

It sounds like something is still turned on, sucking up the battery. Almost like a short.

Ermmm... your camera is broken, or your charger doesn't work, or somehow you have short-circuited both batteries (probably with the broken camera) and they won't hold a charge anymore.

don't know what the problem could be, but what model battery is it? If you have brought everything new, then you should be able to take it back to the shop for an exchange or refund.

may be you should check your camcorder with ac power first.then , decide the problem exists on the battery or the camcorder.
