I left it next to the computer, silly i know, and now, it wont eject the tape, it turns itself off after a minute and i cant use any of the functions, menu etc....

I cant check the tape, it wont eject, or play/rewind/fast forward the camcorder doesnt stay on for more than a minute, and shows nothing but a black screen, none of the buttons work and it just makes a funny noise...

I think it is only the tape that is ruined.

Not sure though.

A data recovery place may be able to recover the video tape also, if ruined.

WOW! It still might be able to be fixed then, but unless you are an electrical engineer, take it to an electronics shop and see if they have any ideas. Sorry to hear that...a good camcorder is hard to replace.

I don't believe that! since i always use and do editing with the camcorder right beside the computer (for more than 8hours straight!).
What i see is that your camcorder has its battery drained or 'dead'. try connecting the camcorder to its AC power adaptor and see what happens.
After doing that and still nothing happens, suggest you bring the camcorder to a service center.

yes, sometimes it's only the lcd that is affected, yet the video is fine. do a test and see if the video is discolored. Otherwise you need a new LCD or chipset for the video.
