Hi... I'm looking for a minidv camcorder (3ccd, and 1 or 2 lux)... Or any other camcorder that has great video quality as well as good-enough still picture quality... I have no idea as to what model to purchase... I've read that 3CCD offers great quality and low lux (1 or 2) is great for capturing video/pictures at night... Any suggestions (models, brands)? Answers will be greatly appreciated... :-)

PS: Budget range is from $0 to $900

With miniDV camcorders, there's lots of good brands out there to satisfy your specifications.
Sony and panasonic and canon (and even samsung too) has great features to suit your needs even in low/night light.

Purchase the one with 3CCD (you got that right!), minimum 5MPixels for good photos, minimum 20x zoom, ledlight for nightshots. Other equally important is connectivity (usb or firewire) - you ought to know your computer port accessibility; bundled with capturing software (comes in handy when your about to upload the video to your computer for burning!); memory card (SD/stick/mmc) - to store those photos.
With this guide, you can't go wrong!

the guy above me is right but his recommended specifications are setting the bar a little too high. ok this is all you need to know, nothing you dont:
1. 3ccd is good, but also expensive
2. Larger ccds offer better low light (1/4.7inch is better than 1/6inch)
3. Don't look for lower lux levels, but rather for larger ccds, and manual shutter and aperture.
4. Digital stills- you might as well dish out the extra few hundred bucks to go buy a real digital camera
5. Optical zoom is good, but dont base your buying decision on the amount of optical zoom
6. Youre gonna need optical image stabilization
7. And inputs for mics are good as well
8. Manual features... you cant get enough of em. by this i mean manual focus mainly. if you have a focus ring (pv-gs series), USE IT! otherwise buy a camera without a focus ring (ok dont)
9. widescreen is a bonus, but not necessary. there are two types of widescreen. one is real widescreen where the screen actually becomes wider (hence the name, widescreen), and another type is "fake" widescreen in which the 16:9 picture is actually has less visual information than the 4:3 (crops the top and bottom of 4:3 to look like 16:9). in the second case, dont use widescreen unless you are absolutely convinced your friend's head looks better with the top half missing. what i mean is if you have "fake" widescreen, shoot in 4:3 and then if you absolutely have to, make it 16:9 on a computer, as quality will be better than that of the camera.
10. im planning to get a pv-gs400 by panasonic (although might change my mind to gl2 by canon) but the pv-gs series by panasonic is very good and many are 3ccd.

Thats all. see? all you needed to know, nothing you didnt. Hope this helps.

Yeah it changed into an fantastically thrilling try tournament for the first 3 days with some fairly sturdy performances from cook, Pietersen and Panesar. i imagine Monty ought to get mom too yet i experience it is going to visit KP. You did not believe me very last week after I warned you that Monty and Swann are a more effective mixture than Ohja and Ashwin. Harbajan changed into especially ineffective too, perchance your critiques have replaced somewhat now. i imagine India can ought to do a touch reshuffling with their batting line up, i do not comprehend if the Indian selectors may have the middle to make the large differences however. imagine we can see a flat pitch next tournament which will be drawn and England to win the sequence 2-a million.
